A GOOD WEEKEND -FOR BALL — Crowds were
good at the annual men's invitational ball -
tournament here over the Weekend. The sun was
warm, but it was never too hot to sit in the stands and
cheer on your favourite team. A team from St. pauls
were the overall tournament champs.

The 6th Annual- Men's Invita-
tional Softball Toutnament was
held in Brussels Ball Park over
the holiday weekend.
Sixteen teams, in twenty-two
games, provided many an excit-
ing game for the large number of
fans who were in attendance.
The B Championship was won
by Bryanston when they downed
Elmira 4-2.
St. Pauls squeaked past Wing-
ham 1-0 for the A Championship.
Scores were:
Sebringville 4, Goderich 3
Walton 5, Lucan
St. Paul 3, Wroxeter 1
Kirkton 2, Bryanston 1

Glen Minn, 28 and his wife
Valerie, 29 of Brussels, are now
listed in satisfactory condition in
Stratford General Hospital follow-
ing a single-vehicle accident near
Amulree early Sunday.
. The crash occurred when the
Dunn's • northbound pickup truck
on Perth County Road 14, crossed
a T-intersection at County Road 9
and struck a sign board before
hitting the ditch, according to
Sebringville OPP. '
Damage to the vehicle wa's
estimated at $600.

way of ramming through regional

farmer. "If they don't get us one

urban residents would feel far-
mers were living purely from
government hand-outs if the
government paid the taxes,
"It is generally thought among
the daily press and therefore by
the general public that, farmers
