Obituaries
JAMES WIGHTMAN
James Chester Wightman, 76,
of Listowel died suddenly July 18
at his ,home after a period of
failing helath.
Mr. Wightman was born to the
late John Wightman and Isabela
Nethery August 31, 1899,
Belgrave.
He was married to. Janie Viola
Campbell in Wingham, 1925.
Besides his wife, he is also
survived by a son Donald -of
Jistowel; a daughter Mrs. C.C.
(Phyllis) Holmes, Hantsport„
N.S.; a. brother Edgar of
Belgrave; a sister Mrs. James
(Jennie) Walsh, Belgrave and five
grandchildren. Mr. Wightman
and his wife lived in Belgrave
before coming to Listowel in 1935.
Mr. Wightman was employed
for many years with, the CNR,
retiring in 1962. He was a
crossing guard for Central Public-, School until 1973. He was a
member of Trinity United
Church, Listowel, The Canadian
Order .of Foresters, and 100F
Lodge # 160.
Funeral service was held July
at Robert Trench Funeral
Home, Listowel. Rev. William
officated at the service.
_Burial was at Brandon Cemetery,
Belgrave,

Paul Ten Pas, 10 year old son
of Hank and Agnes Ten Pas of
+ Brussels has proven that the
Maitland River isn't polluted as
some of us, think it is. On
Saturday Paul caught a 29 inch,
six pound Northern Pike in the
river, right in Brussels, when he
was fishing from a rowboat.

July 13, following a lengthy ,;11ness, of John Wendell
cCallum of Belgrave. He was in -'his 47th year.
