OMB has 15 minute
hearing on
In a hearing on Monday that
lasted only 15 minutes, the
Ontario Municipal Board heard
the case for the annexation of part
of Grey .township, to Brussels.
The land in question consists of
about 4 acres on the south west
corner of Brussels owned by Jack
MacDonald, Albian Emery of
Toronto and J.C: Krauter. Mr.
MacDonald, who owns about
three and three quarter acres,
and Mr. Krauter, who owns about
one third of an acre wanted the
property annexed to Brussels so
that all their land for the
subdivision they are planning
would be in one municipality.
There were no objections to the
annexation from the township of
Grey, the village of Brussels, or
the two main property owners.
However, Mr. Emery who owns a
35 foot strip of land which only

has access from the creek, wrote
the OMB asking that the land
ownership in the area be clarified
and that' he be supplied. with
information regarding the sub-
division.
'Apparently, Mr. Emery,
who acquired the land in' a tax
sale, believed his property was
larger sized. The. OMB decided
that since his letter was not an
objection they would hand down
their decision on the matter
within 28 days. If the annexation
is approved, the land will become
part of Brussels as of Dec. 31,
1976.
Mr. Emery had written the
clerk of Brussels asking about the
land situation earlier, but the .
'letter, addressed Brussels, On-
tario, somehow got sent to
Brussels in Belgium and had to
be sent back.

It has happened! The feared

the boy was not seriously injured.
