The Bus Trip On our bus trip to Black Creek Meer Village was interesting to • e the houses that the pioneers ved in. The carding and inning wool and making butter 'd rhubarb jam was lots of fun. epeople there wer friendly and ice. I thought it was a good idea let us walk around and see verything else. I enjoyed visiting. ere. There was just one thing wrong with visiting • the Science Centre, ere was not enough time to see all. Plus we had to stay together d some people wanted to see mething and someone else anted something different. I did njoy seeing the Science Centre ough. I liked seeing the airport but I wit before. It was nice seeing it ain. McDonalds was a good place to because the food did not cost cry* much and they cook good ood. )think if we had more time to see everything it would have been better. I had a great time nyways. Karen McLean Our Class Trip. I would have enjoyed the Science Centre better if we would. ave had more tithe. I enjoyed the Black Creek neer Village very much cause I thought the weaving, spinning, carding, dipping Candles was very interesting. I catty liked churning butter and making jam. The pedple Were Yery friendly and they didn't make you feel uneasy if you made a mistake. The airport was exciting watching the airplanes return and take off. It was also exciting watching them load up. It was very good. The, old buildings were also very interesting to see.. If I could, I would like to go back there. When we went to the Airport I liked to watch the planes arrive and depart. I also liked to go up and down the elevators. The food at McDonalds was delicious, and cheap., I'm sure everybody learned something, there. I think' our triii was a great success. Teresa W. Good and Bad Points of My Trip I thought the Science Centre was very interesting but some of the things I didn't understand. Paper making was something I had never seen and I enjoyed it. I would also have lived to talk with different people• in different places. The' Black. Creek Pioneer Village made me feel like . a pioneer. I enjoyed baking, weaving, spinning and dipping candles. The house we did this in was very interesting. I liked walking around by ourselves to see the different buildings and the ,-interesti&ig rooms in the hoses. , The airport' was alright but I had been there before, and so there really wasn't anything different. McDonalds: I enjoyed ray dinner there. It's the best p lace we could of ate, I think. .I really enjoyed my‘ day. Karen Alexander W.Turnbull honored on 80th A pork barbeque was held Sunday at the home of Bill and. Marie Turnbull by the family of 'Wilbur Turnbull to honor him on his 80th birthday. Robert Habkirk spoke a few words and Mr.. Turnbull was presented with, an umbrella and table for the patio. He 'thanked the family for their thought- fulness. His family were all present coming from Oakville, Burling- ton, Ingersoll, North Bay, Wood- stock and Brussels. Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd, James St., Seaforth, recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. They, were married June 18, 1936, at Brussels United Church. Mrs. Boyd is the former Jessie Miller, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller, and Mr. Boyd is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd. The couple have four daugh- ters: Margaret (Mrs. Gordon Dale); Marjorie (Mrs. Laverne Hamilton); Edith, (Mrs. Laurence Taylor); Joan(Mrs. John Oke); and one son, Douglas. There are twelve grandchildren. The family honoured the couple at a celebration on the occasion of their anniversary at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dale, RIR. 4, Clinton. There were 45 guest present and a social time was spent, followed by a bountiffp smorgasbord. Meal served to the guests, seated at picnic tables on the lawn. Mr. and Mrs. B9yd were presented with gifts and good wishes. The grandchildren presented them with an engraved plaque. They expressed their thanks to all present for a very enjoyable time.
