Faced with the' loss of two
Supervisory officers in two
' ,_month's' time the Huron-Perth
County Roma.n Catholic Separate
School Board debated the
problem at a special meeting of
the board Monday night.
Joseph Tokar, superintendent
of special services and Alexander
Easton, superintendent of
programs have both resigned
effective July 31.
For almost two hours in
committee of the whole the board
members thrashed out the
Problem of replacing the officers.
Just before 10 p.m. the board
went into a general meeting and
the, lone press representative was
allowed into the board room.
The heated debate centred
around whether to advertise for a
supervisory officer or a
superintendent of special
services. Finally in a recorded
vote asked for by Howard Shantz
of Stratford, on a motion Ito
advertise fora supeiintendent of
special services eight trustees
voted in the affirmative - Ronald
Marcy, Joseph Looby, William
Kinahan, ,Donald Crowley,
Vincent Young, F. J. Vere , Ted
Geoffrey and Greg Fleming.
Opposed were Howard Shant
David T eahen, Michael
Connolly, John O'Drowsky and
Francis Hicknell.
Next came the recorded vote,
again called for by Howard
Shantz, on a motion to advertise
as soon- as possible for a
superintendent of programs to fill
the second vacancy. Those-
opposed wanted to hire only a
'supervisory officer and not name
the position. Ilte affirmative vote
carried nine to four. Opposed to

Car Show being held here on,
S aturday and Sunday, June 12
and 13th by the Maitland Valley
Region of HistoridarAutomobile
Society of Canada promises to
have attractions that Will .
appeal to a great many people.
Saturday will find the ` Flea
Market in tall swing at the
fairgrounds with antique car parts
and displays of crafts, dried apple
dolls and watch fobs.
On Saturday afternoon there
will be a model airplane
exhibition air show by a Kitehent
Kitchener man who hag' made it
his hobby. He is said to have

helicopter with an 8 foot wing
Span capable of 200 'miles an
hour. Such an exhibition should
be exciting for the general public.
