Both the Liberal and N.D.P. parties indicated they would not support such legislation 'which would mean that the government would be defeated, hence an election would be inevitable on the issue. Faced With this opposition, the government opted for the court appeal. Funds for tile drainage loans have been cut back this year by the Province as part of its restraint program. Last year $16 million was available for the program but that was dropped back to $10 million. On review it was raised to $13 million. Since many Municipalities had already approved more than their allocations for the current year before word of the cut back was received, there has been considerable pressuie to increase the total amount available for this . Also displayed is the Fred Thompson trophy, which was won by the Maitland Valley Region for the effort that was put in to lasy year's Flea Market Weekend held in Brussels. This trophy is given to a different region every year. This year an added attraction, on Saturday June 12, will be a remote control airplane show t o be held at 2 p.m. at the fairgrounds. The antique cars will' be displayed for the public on Sunday afternoon at the fairgrounds. program.
