Duff's United Church, Walton was filled for Family Sunday with families, relatives and visitors on Sunday Morning, May 9. Greeters at the door were Ross. Bennett and Walter Bewley.. Rev. Ed. Baker took as his sermon 'Really Alive". Mrs. Ray Huether was the organist. The Junior Choir under the leadership of Mrs. Ray Huether added to the Mother's Day service for this happy occasion with their special numbers. Infants received into the church by Baptism were: Shannon Leigh Ann Craig, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graeme Craig; Gregory Scott Fritz, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fritz; Andrea Michell Gingerich, infant Correspondent Mrs. Mac Engel Rev. Young, Goderich, was in charge of the regular morning service on Sunday, May 9. Mrs. Mary Becker, Kitchener, visited Mr. and Mr.s Jack Conley on Saturday. Bill Paris, Ottawa, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cameron and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henry,' Goderich, spent the weekend with Mrs. Stuart McNair. Mrs. Calvin Cameron attended a wedding in Collingwood on Saturday and visited later in Brantford and Conestoga. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Huether and girls, Camb ridge, (Galt), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gingerich; Sherry Lynn Harburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Harburn; Jason Stewart McCall, infant 'son of Dr. and. Mrs. John. Mr. and Mrs. Ian. Wilbee and Mrs. R. Wilbee visited on Sunday with Mr. Russell Wilbee, Owen. Sound. Miss Karen McEwing spent Saturday at the home of her parents', Mr. and Mrs. Jack McEw ing. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Achilles Friendship Club plans open house About 60 members of the Brussels Friendhsip Club met in the Legion Hall on Wednesday, April 28 when President Edwin Martin presided. "0 Canada", was sung with Verna Thomas as pianist. Mrs. Eleanor Hemingway announced that an Open House for an exhibition of articles made in the craft classes of the "Work and Play". club would be held in the Library basement some day during the third week of May - day to be announced. Mrs. Ida Hunter had some information on several bus trips.- ' Since no more business arose, the group took part in progressive euchre with fourteen :tables in play. Prize winners were men's high - Mrs. John Yuill (playing as a man); low - Russell Knight;• ladies' high - Mrs. Elsie Shaw; Low - Mrs. Wilbur Turnbull.); Most number of "2's" on tally card - Mrs. Verna Th omas. The lunch committee served lunch, topped off with a treat of birthday cake, a gift of the Ladies' Auxiliary who had celebrated their birthday , the previous evening. and Debbie of Fergus visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Roily Achilles. Christine Achilles also visited at the same home. A large number of people from this area took in Oklahoma, presented by the Home and School in Grey Central School three nights last week. WAYNE GRUBS, • Cranbrook Knots meet visited on Saturday with Mrs. , Glenn Huether. Mr. and. Mrs. Winston McEachern, 'Cambridge (Galt)' spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Wes. McEachern. The eighth meeting of the Cranbrook French Knots was held on Saturday, 'May 8th at 10 a.ni. at the home of Arlene Strickler. The meeting was opened with the 4-H Pledge. Tracy Engel read the minutes of the last meeting. Arlene demonstrated how to mitre a corner. Ellen discussed "Judging Needlework". The meeting was closed with the 4-H motto. Mr. John Beckett of Preston visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wes.
