Easter Assembly held at Howick Central
ItOn April 30th, there is a
Professional Development Day
for the teachers and a holiday for
:students. This P.D. Day will
• follow the schedule that was to be
held on Jan. 28th, but was
cancelled because of the number
of school days we had missed.
This P.D. Day is for teachers from
'the schools in Huron County.
Some teachers have presentations
that will share their ideas with
other teachers. These presen-
lations are throughout the day as
there are fifty-four presentations,
Mr. FiSher, Mrs. Kirkby and Mr.
Parsons are giving presentations
from our school. The teachers
were given a booklet on what-the
presentations are about and
where to go to hear them.
We hope the teacher$ will be able
to get handy hints which will help
them in their teaching.

Illness Strikes Howick
"Warning"
At Howick Central School some
flu bugs are flying around. No one
knows where they are now, but
we are sure that they are
attacking someone. Already many
students have been hit by the flu
bugs. Another bug flying around
is the measles bug. If you know
the whereabouts of them, please
contact the Anti-Bug Association.
These bugs are 3" long and 1" h
igh and all have -red skin. The
measles bug has an "M" on its
back and the flu bug, an "F".
Everyone hopes taht somebody
will catch them. If they do
everyone will breathe easier. So if
you see him, catch him, but don't
spread him.

End of Electives
On Wednesday, April 21, the
elective program, 'which ran
through the first and second
terms ended.
The elective program included
the activities of models, book
club, and news reporting, outdoor
education, sports, music and
typing. On each day six of each
six lay cycle, two periods were set
aside for the elective program,
Now that we are in the third
term and there is a lot of work to
do with the final exams- near, the
elective program has ended. I feel
that the elective program was
successful and the students got
much enjoyment out of them. I
also hope that the electives will be
continued next year.

Easter Assembly
As you may have read in last
week's paper Mrs. Szarek and her
class were planning an Easter
Assembly which was put on last
Thursday, April 15, 1976. Well, it
happened:and it was enjoyed very
much. This assembly was full of
happy Easter songs and funny
little skits. One skit was when the ,
Easter Bunny visited the small
home of Mr. and Mrs. Rabbit and
their ten little bunnies. But the
best of all came near the end. By
no means because it was almost
over, but because the Easter
Bunny, all dressed in pink
(Steven Morrel;, hopped around
the, stage until his song was over;
then drew one of the tickets from
'the box for the basketful of
chocolate goodies. The winner
was Ken Strong. Yes, it was a
very enjoyable assembly. '

The music Night at F.E,Madill
The Howick Central • Senior
Choir will, have to sing their
hearts out at the Music, Night in
f.E.Madill Secondary School
while singing four numbers on
stage: The choir is singing "I
May Never See You Again",
"The Lord's My Shepherd,"
"The Asht Grove", and "Old
slack Joe". All the songs 'are
sung in three-part harmony which
makes them sound even better
throughoUt 'the auditorium.
Many other schools will be
participating in this concert and
will also be singing some of their
songs in three part harmony.
To end the music night there
will be a mass choir (which is
composed of all the schools
participating) who will sing two
numbers. It will be a very
enjoyable experience, so if you
can come, the concert is April
28th at 8;00 p.m See You There!
