Obituary
SARAH JANE HENDERSON
Sarah-Jane Henderson, 85,
died Saturday at Seaforth
Community Hospital.
She was the wife of the late
James S. iH enderson, and
daugher of the late Th omas and
Sarah Jarman.
She is survived by a daughter,
Mrs. Clarence (Laurene)
Maloney, of R.R.5, Seaforth; a
brother Thomas Jarman, of
Climax, Saskatchewan; four
granddaughters.
Mrs. Henderson was
predeceased by one daughter,
Elenor.
Friends were received at the
Whitney-Rib ey Funeral Home in
Seaforth where funeral service
was held. Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Burial followed in the Maitland-
bank Cemetery.

Goderich detachment of the
O.P.P. has had a total of 805 duty
hours and patrolled 5,577 miles of
highway and other roads.
Other activity included invest-
igating 3 traffic accidents. 28
charges were laid including
H.T.A. - 16; L.L.A. - 8 and C.C.C.
- 4. Forty-six warnings were
given.
During the period, 28 requests
for assistance were received and
in Provincial Court, Criminal
Division, Goderich, 5 persons
were convicted of H.T.A. offences
and 3 persons convicted of C.C.C.
offences.
During spring months, four-
teen canoeists drowned in Ontario

accidents which caused these
deaths, it is obvious that inexper-
ience on the part of the paddlers
and cold water combined with
unpredictable weather were the
major factors.
O.P.P. Sgt. T.N. Redpath said
the O.P.P. strongly advises
canoeists to leave their favorite
sport for the warm months of
summer when water is at swim-
ming temperatures and an acci-
dental dunking is only a refresh-
ing experience.
