A GOOD CATCH -- The trout season just opened
last week and Garry McWhirter was quick to try his
luck, Luck was with him and he (and his mother)
caught this 12 and a half inch speckled trout
Saturday morning, just a mile and a half outside of
Brussels in a little spring fed pond.

do so. This was not the only
accident of the kind that day.
Another lady was also hit, but not
knocked down. There have also
been numerous near collisions
reported or witnessed. if this
continues someone will be
seriously injured. No one wants
the youngsters to be deprived of
the enjoyment of their bicycles
but the sidewalks are no place to
ride them. parents must impress
on their children the necessity for
caution and . see that they are,
aware of safety rules for bicycle
riders .Riding on sidewalks at
dangerous speeds cannot go on
any -longer for it endangers
others.

The Gjoderich: Lions Club have,
purchased a film entitled "How to
Say No to a Rapist". The problem
of rape has been increasing and
information of the kind this film
gives could be very valuable to
any girl or woman who might find
herself confronted with such a
situation. The film creates an
atmosphere that cuts through the
anxiety, embarrassment, and
myths which have, made the
discussion of rape taboo. Viewers
will not find anything offensive in
this film. It should be of prime
interest to women's organizat-
ions; church groups, nurses;
social workers; parent teachers
associations, institutes, and youth
and adult audiences alike, and is
for free use by any group in
Huron County. No community is
without a rape problem, whether
recognized or not. The Brussels
Lions expect to show the film here
in approximately two or three
weeks. For further information
contact Max Oldfield or Albert
TenPas and watch for
advertising.

Snow, such as we have had
these days, is not a rare
occurrence in this area in April.
We were told that on April 25th a
few years ago the snow plows had
to be called out. One man recalled
hauli ng logs on the 24th of May
when there was a foot of snow. No
doubt the beautiful summer
weather we had at Easter-time
makes us lee!, and resent, the
return of the snow and the cold.
