Ivan Wightman, District esident, brought greetings om the district. The roll call was answered by e members reading an. Easter erse and two members brought aster floral arrangements. Mrs. Murray Lougheed on the iano and Scot Lougheed on the anjo entertained the ladies with me lively music. The correspondence included e following announcements: chievernent Day is to be held on une 19 at F.E. Madill Secondary chool for the project "A Touch of titchery." The fall project will be The Cereal Shelf." The annual eeting of Huron County Histor- al Society will be in Varna, May 9. An invitation was received nd accepted from the Maitland ranch to attend their meeting on ay 25. A letter of thanks was ad from the Heart Fund xpressing their appreciation for e canvass which netted a total f $444.00. A brief report of the executive eeting of the district was given. Mrs. Stanley Hopper was turned as president for the oming year during the annual eeting. Mrs. Ross Higgins gave he secretary-treasurer's report nd her reports showed a verY- ccessful year. Mrs. Stanley Black read the port of the Agriculture and anadian Industries Committee. Mrs. John Kerr reported for itizenship and World Affairs. Mrs. Earl Anderson gave the eport of Education and Cultural ctivities, Convenor Family and onsumers Affairs report was ad by Mrs. James Hunter. Mrs. Norman Coultes read the ublic Relations report and Mrs. van Wightman, the Curator's eport. Resolutions report was prepared by Mrs. Garner icholson. Mrs. C.W. Hanna ported for the East Wawanosh arks and. Recreation Committee nd expressed concern for the ture of the community centre. Mrs. Stanley Hopper summed up the year's work in her report thanking the members for their cooperation and stressing the fact that women must be willing to take office in order to have a thriving branch. The delegates appointed to attend District Annual in Auburn on May 26 are Mrs. Walter Scott, Mrs. Leonard James, Mrs. Ross Higgins and Mrs. Norman Coultes. The Executive will meet on April 27 to make plans for the coming year. The May meeting will be held on May 18 in the Women's Institute Hall and there will be an exchange, of bulbs and flower slips.
