Several area residents have been victims of the "flu" bug recently. Bill Paris, Ottawa, is visiting Mr. and. Mrs. Alex Cameron and family. Mrs. Gerald Huether, Sandra and Tracey, Cambridge, Galt, Mrs. Bruce Allen, daughter Linda and Joanne, and Mrs. Bill. Clark, London visited Mrs. Glenn Huether. Mr. and Mrs. Art Nicholls, Atwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Huehn, Conestoga, visited with Mrs. CalVin Cameron and Miss Emylene Steiss last week. Eleven tables of progressive euchre were in play on Friday evening at the Community Centre High scores went to Mrs. Jim Hart and Lloyd Smith, consolation awards to Mrs. Lloyd Smith and David Hart. Lucky cup winner was Sam Beirnes,, Listowel. Correspondent Mrs. L. Stonehouse A dinner was held Saturday evening to honour Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Haines, Mr. andMrs. Glenn Coultes and the Belgrave Tyke Hockey Team who captured the Tyke Tri-County Trophy earlier this month. At the centre of the head table was a specially decorated cake, done by Mrs. Bolt, depicting a hockey rink. After everyone had been sea ted, Doug Wood and Steven Bridge presented Hazel Haines and Dorothy Coultes with corsages. Randy Nixon asked the blessing after which everyone enjoyed a turkey dinner. Chairman, Ken Henry, congra- tulated the team on their achieve- ment after which Robert Gordon read an address, which had been set to rhyme, to the coaches. Johnny Smuck and Jeffrey Coul- ter presented the coaches with a gift. Glenn and Wilfred fittingly replied and thanked everyone for the evening. The President of the Tri-County league, Harry Winkle, was on hand to present the tophy to the team. The evening concluded with a film "Snookie, The Adventures of a Black Bear Cub". Belgrave weekly euchre had five tables in play with high prizes going to Mr. and Mrs. Herson Irwin. Ladies tow went to Mrs. Victor Youngblut and man's low to Gordon Nicholson. Belgrave Women's Institute sponsored a shoot party in Institute Hall on March 26 with eleven tables in play. High lady went to Mrs. Jim Coultes. High man to Mark Armstrong. Low lady went to Mrs. Leonard Jame and low man to Bruce Higgi0 Prize for most shoots was heck! Mrs. Helen Martin, vici Youngblut and Jim Coultes 4 Victor Youngblut winning ih draw. Mrs. Cliff Logan spent a fe days last week with Mr. and MIS Americo Arruda of Toronto as Mr. and Mrs. Barry Logan ol Oakville, Cliff Logan visited them on the weekend and Mrs. Logs returned home with him. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Beirnes visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Purdy and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stuart, Lindsay, returned home on Friday from a month's vacation in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Stuart visited over the weekend at the Purdy home. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Elliott and Laurie Knots meet The fourth meeting of the Cranbrook French Knots was held at the home of Arlene Strickler on Friday March 26 at 1:30. The meeting was opened with the 4H pledge. The next meeting is to be held at the home of Ellen Lefor on Saturday April 3 at 1:30. Bernice read the minutes of the last meeting and discussed the club skit for Achievement Day. Arlene discussed choosing the "Free Choice" article. Everyone tried the. couching crossed and the couching outline stitches on samplers. The meeting was closed with the 4H motto.
