The, market at Brussels
Stockyards Friday was active with
steers selling at steady to
stronger prices. Heifers traded
lower and pigs sold higher.
Choice Steers - 39.00 to 41.00
with sales to 41.80.
Good Steers - 37.00 to 39.00.
A fancy lot of twelve steers
consigned by Henry Farms of
Blyth sold for 41.80 with his lot of
34 steers averaging 1003 lbs.

Two steers consigned by Jack
Grant of Gadshill averaging 910
lbs. sold for 41.10.
A steer consigned by Earl J
Johnston of Walkerton .weighing

The W.MS. of Melville Church
met for their March meeting on
Thursday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. Gerald Gibson. Mrs.
Gibson presided for the meeting
for the president, Mrs. J. Martin,
and opened with a - poem ,
"Somebody": Mrs. King read .a
letter from Mrs. Martin, who is
spending the winter in Florida.
Correspondence included the
announcement of a meeting of
Maitland Presbyterial in Lucknow-
m May when Mrs. M. Newstead,
President of council will speak. A
')us trip to Toronto in June is
."eing planned. Those who go will
;)e given a tour of Knox College,
liwart College, a Chinese
Presbyterian Church and the
Church Offices in Don Mills.
Twelve visits to shut-ins were
reported.
The roll call response was a
verse containing the word
"sign". Mrs. Amy Speir read

children in Taiwan.
Mrs.W.C,King read the
scripture lesson, and Mrs.
W,W.Smith followed with prayer,
The new study for this year was
introduced by Mts. Gibson. The
book is entitled "Plain talk on -
John" an exposition of the Gospel
of John. Mrs.C. Matheson dealt
with the Second chapter of the
book. The meeting was closed by
singing the hyinn, "Faith of our
Fathers".
