Thirteen members and one visitor were present. Mrs. Stanley Fischer opened the meet- ing and presided for the business. Mrs. Mac Engel gave the opening prayer and a devotional talk on "The Listening Ear', Part of Mark Ch. 4 'was read, the parable of the sower, and the Hymn "Take my Life and let it be" was read in unison. Mrs. Earl Dunn gave the topic on "Prayer". The roll call was a verse on "prayer". The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. Leslie Knight and she announced that our Presby- terial visitor is to be Mrs. Norman Coulthard, of St. Pauls. Mrs. Wilfred Strickler commented on the current issue of the Glad Tidings and read "How can I keep Lent?" Mrs. Jack Knight gave a reading "Ten Commandments to Happiness" and Mrs. John A Correspondent Mrs. L. Stonehouse The Belgrave Women's institute held a Shoat Party on Friday evening in the Women's Institute Hall with 10 tables in play. Winners are as follows:. High Lady - Mrs. Sara Anstett; High Man - Edgar Wightman; Low Lady- Mrs. Jim McLean; Low Man - Norman Coultes; Novelty Lady - Mrs. Willard Armstrong; Novelty Man - Geroge Mitchell; Lucky Chair - Mrs. Clarence Hanna; Lucky Cup - Norman Coultes. Mrs. Glenn Huether assisted the hos- tess with lunch. Mrs. Bob Peters, Bowmanville, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunn last week. Mr. Karl Scheussler, Brodha- gen, was in charge of the service' in Knox Church on- Sunday morning. ' Next Sunday, March 21, Rev. The second meeting of the "Cranbrook French Knots" was ,- held at the home. of Arlene Strickler on Saturday March 13 at 1:30. The meeting was opened with the 4H pledge. All members answered Roll' Call. Arlene read the minutes of the last meeting and also demonstrated how to transfer the pattern onto the fabric. Everyone tried the back stitch on their sampler. The meeting was closed with the 4H motto.. The next meeting will be on Saturday, March 20 at the home of Ellen Lefor. Mrs. Barr and Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, all of Toronto, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Stuart' Stevenson.
