This has resulted in many small
differences between a family unit
and a senior citizens unit. For
instance, light switches and
' electrical sockets are placed so
senior citizens don't have to bend
or stretch to reach them. The'
halls and stairways have brighter
lighting'. Non-skid waxes are used
on the floors and stairs and the
heat in the units is kept a few
degrees higher during the winter
Months.
Bathrooms are designed with
"grab-bars" and kitchen
appliances are placed so as to
reduce the possibility of
accidents. Most buildings are
equipped with community laundry
facilities to promote social contact
between the residents and
lounges and cable television
facilities are provided wherever
possible.

OHC's senior citizen, housing

since the formation of the
corporation in 1964. At that time
there were only 36 senior citizen

senior citizen portfolio.
Today, OHC has more than
