No more upkeep worries for Seniors (By Evelyn Kennedy) The new Senior Citizens. Hous- ing, which will be officially opened on Wednesday, March 24, has obviously provided a satisfactory answer to problems of most of the Senior Citizens of this community who have already taken up residence there. Eleven units are already occup- ied and at least five more have been applied for but the people have not yet moved in. All, but one couple, who have been contacted are well content in their new place of residence and in interviewing them we could not elicit a single complaint. They all expressed satisfaction with the way things have been managed. Here are the comments of those talked with about their new home. Mrs. Mary Snell said she like it very much and that things could not be better. It is warm and ...omfortable and she had no :omplaints whatever. Mrs. Florence Russell also said she had no complaints. Anything •.he asked for had been provided. it was nice and warm. It was a •elief not to have to worry about snow or fuel, she said. She was happy and content. Miss Beth Hoover likes it quite well. Though the place is small, ,he is not in good health and has Pl she wants to do. Mrs. Daisy McLean, when asked how she likes her accomod- ltion said "really lovely, grand, I vould not move out for anything. t is comfortable •and bright. I really like it and could not have anything better. I would not trade it for all the new houses in town. Everyone who visits me thinks it is lovely." Mrs. Hudson told us she is very, very happy where she is and will stay there' until the book is closed". She also said she wanted to include a warm word of appreciation to those who take care of the place for their work. They are very nice and do a good job. She said she did not have anything to complain about. Alfred Knight, the lone bache- lor of the place, said he has found it satifactory. His apartment is comfortable and very nice. He appreciates the quietness and has no cause for complaints. There were some problems in the winter but he anticipates that it will be quite pleasant in the summer_ He appreciates that things are well looked after. Mrs. Tom Strachen has found their ' apartment nice , for one person but too small for her and her husband. There had been trouble in the winter with frozen pipes and cold. Their own house has not been sold and they intend moving back to their own home in the near future. How gratifying that some of our Senior Citizens are settled in and content, with no further worries about the upkeep of a house and lot. If they have been pleased with their surroundings in the winter months how much more pleasant it will be for them in the summer. rEIN NNW MIN WM MI NM NM ME it ain't the bricks nor the mortar nor funds that they can pay but the close co-operation that makes them win the day it ain't the individual nor the people as a whole but the everlasting team work of every bloornin' soul. congratulations to the town of brussels on the opening of the new senior citizens. sedan and kanerva architects planners 74 Berkeley street toronto, ontario 364-6665 sim. mai Om Nim Nam anam rim am me elm pm 8—THE BRUSSELS POST MARCH 17 f 1976
