The third annual Brussels
ptimist Atom Tournament will
e held on March 20, 21, 26, 27
nd 28th. Teams are entered from
roughout Ontario and the
nited States. This year's
urnament will consist of four
ivisions and will attract 30

played.
At the present time four teams
are entered in the "AAA"
divisions with teams coming from
Ajax, Brantford, Guelph and
Kitchener. The A Division has
teams from Kitchener, Goderich,
• Merriton, Orangeville, Elmira,
Hespeler and • Garden City,
Michigan. In the B Division teams
from Seaforth, Mitchell, Listowel,
Port Elgin, St. Marys, Hanover,
Walkerton and Wingham will be
competing for the title. The .0
Division is comprised of teams
from Glencoe, Palmerston,
Plattsville, Grand
Bend, Arthur, Kingsville and
Brussels.
In order to make the
tournament a success, the
Optimists require accommodation
for players on both weekends. If
anyone is interested inbilleting
players, please contact Brian
Huether or Frank Stretton.
The Tournament should supply
exciting and entertaining. hockey
for the residents of the area.
Therefore keep these dates open
and come out to the arena in
" support of the tournament and
see some excellent crowd
pleasing hockey.
Dart leagues list standing
The Belgrave Tyke Hockey
team started the Tri County Play
off last Tuesday with a 7••2 win
over Belniore. Scoring , for Bel-
grave were Bill Haines and Paul

The annual Lucknow Flea
Tournament was held this past
Saturday in Lucknow with eight
teams participating. The Brtissels
squad played their first game at
11 A.M. against a team from
Tiverton, defeating them 5 - 1.
Scorers were Kevin McArter
with 3 goals, Tim Fritz and Gary
Godkin, 1 goal each. Rich Knight
picked up two assists.
In the second game at 4 p.m.
they played Ebelgrave in a good
game of hockey. The home team
won by a 2. - 0 score. Goals were
scored by Rich Knight and Kevin
McArter with Kevinpicking up
the only assist on Rick's goal.
The championship game at 7
P.m: against the home team of
Lucknow proved to be the" best
game of the day. At one point in
the third period the local team
On Monday evening two teams
travelled out of town to continue
playoff activity. The Atom team
travelled to. Milverton where they
squeaked by with a 2 - 1 win.
Goals were scored by Robbie
Cardiff and Kevin Wheeler with
assists going to Kevin Wheeler
and Brian Wheeler.
The Peewee team travelled to
Hensall for their first game of the
series and picked up a 6 - 0 win.
Goal scorers were Brian Tenpas
with 3, Terry McCutcheon, Ken
Higgins, Kevin, Deitner, 1 each.
Assists went to Ken Cousins,
BHA Tenpas, Doug McArter,
Paul Johnston, Terry
McCutcheon.
On Friday night the same team
travelled to Milverton for the first
game of their final playoff series.
The home team picked up a 6 - 1
win. Goal scorers for Brussels
were Tommie Ward, 2, Kevin
McArter, Gary Pipe, Rick Knight
and Gary Godkin, 1 each. Assists
went to Rick Knight, Tommie
Ward and Kevin McArter.
At the local arena, the Atom
team was playing Milverton in the

They rallied around and came
back with 3 goals to win by a 5 3
margin over Lucknow. Brussels
scorers were Kevin McArter with
2 goals, Tommie Ward, Rich
Knight and Gary Pipe, 1 goal

This was the fifth straight, year
that a Brussels team has brought
home the Lucknow Flea
Tournament trophy. Congratula-
