The February meeting of the •
Walton Wcmen's Institute was
held in the community hall on
Wednesday evening.
The president, Mrs. Don
Achilles called the meeting fo
order in the regular manner. Mrs.
William Humphries was pianist.
The minutes were approved as
read by Mrs. Ken McDonald
followed by the treasurer's report
and the regular collection and the
pennies for friendship were
taken. In the correspondence a
letter was read from Mrs.
Maluske referring to the Officers
Conference at University
campus, Waterloo on May 4-5-6.
The suggested delegate to ,attend
is Mrs, Jim Axtmann.
Card Party committee chosen
for Friday, March 5 were: Mrs.
Harold FIudie„ Mrs. Den Liphard,
Mrs. Emerson Mitchell and Mrs,
Trevor Smith. Committee for
Friday, March 19 are:
Mrs. Lavern Godkin, Mrs, Neil
McGavin, Mrs. Nelson Marks and.
Mrs. Alvin McDonald.
' The nominating . committee to
bring in the new „slate of officers
for the coming year are: Mrs.
Graeme Craig, Mrs. NelsonReid,
Mrs. Ron Bennett and Mrs. Jack
Gordon. The annual meeting will;
be held in April with a dinner.
The Institute will cater to a 25th
wedding anniversary party on
April 9th at Family Paradise.
The March meeting in charge
of conveners, Mrs. Alvin
McDonald and Mrs. Harvey Craig
will have a Court Whist Party on
the regular night," each member
to invite at least two guests,. A
donation was made to Save the
brigade. The panel covered many
interesting points including the
organization and function of the
brigade as well as things all
should be aware of as fire hazards
around the home.
There were many questions put
to the panel and all were ably
answered. In appreciation of Mr.
Engel's and Mr. Conley's contri-
bution to the meeting the group
made a contribution to the Fire
Dept to be used towards the
purchase of a resuscitator.
Lunch was served by Mrs. lefor
and Mrs. Jim Hart assisted by
Mrs. Conley. The meeting closed
by: singing "0 Canada".
Personals
Mr. Carl Murray, Stratford,
conducted the service in Knox
Church on Sunday morning.
Mr. Ralph. Noble is recuperat-
ing at the home of Mr.Gorclon
Connolly, following three weeks
as a patient in Listowel Hospital.
Mrs. Calvin Cameron visited
with her brother-in-law and sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Huehn,
Conestoga. Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Dunn spent the weekend at the
home of Mr. and Mrs: Allan
Dunn, Bloomingdale.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Huether
and daughters Cambridge (Galt)
visited with Mrs. Glenn FttIether
on the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henry,
Goderich, spent the weekend with.

Nineteen members answered

Watson gave the motto - "Quality

table" followed by the Canada
Food Guide illustrating with
pictures. Mrs. Rock
demonstrated wheat germ
Mrs. Graeme Craig Was
hostess for the February meeting
of the Boundary and 17th Unit of
the U.C.W. at her home on
Monday evening with 13 ladies
present. .6) Mrs. Hugh Johnson opened the
devotions with a, poem "Love is
Trusting".f The scripture lesson
was taken from 1st Corinthians
12: 1-13. Hymn, "Softly and
Tenderly, Jesus is Calling" was
sung. Mrs. Harvey. Craig and.
Mrs. H. Johnson held a question
and answering period followed by
prayer by Mrs. Johnson.
Mrs. H. Craig read an article
on the "Ten Commandments"
written by Billy Graham.. The
Psalm 721 was read in unison.
The collection was taken ,
,dedicated by Mrs. Johnson. Mrs.
H Craig gave a reading, "How
do you know when you're prayers
were answered". Hymn,
"Beneath the Cross of Jesus"
was sung.
Mrs. II. Johnson closed this
part of the meeting With a reading
'Tack to the CrOssroads".
Mrs. Martin Baan conducted
the business'. Minutes were
approved as read by Mrs. Harold
McCalluni. The, World Day of
Prayer was announced for Friday,
February' 5th at 2- p.m. It was
voted to 'donate $4.00 to the
March of Dimes.
The next meeting to be held at

meeting for "A Touch of
Stitchery" at the home of Mrs,
Paul McDonald at 7:00 on
Wednesday.

from Mrs. Maluske was read as.
well as correspondence concern-
ing Officers Conference.
It was moved by Mrs. Leslie
Knight and seconded by Mrs.
Gordon Engel that the Officers
Conference. fee be sent in the
hope that someone will be able to
attend.
Mrs. Lefor and Mrs. Lorne
Strickler will be the leaders of the
4H club a "Touch of Stitchery"
Catering prices were revised after
some general discussion. The
new price schedule is available by
contacting the secretary, Mrs.
Frank Workman.
Mrs. Goldwin Knight and Mrs.

Family and Consumer Affairs
took charge of the program part of
the meeting. The roll call "a
cause of fire in the home" was
answered by eleven members and
