at Wednesday's meeting of . the
Huron County Board of Education
Four were for students of South
Huron District High School in
Exeter and the fifth concerned
F.E. Madill secondary school in
Wingham.
The Wingham students will be
spending two days on a weekend
late in February at. Moonstone Ski
Resort at Coldwater, The 35
students will be accompanied by
two teachers.
Each student will pay about
$20 for the trip and the student
council will be contributing $150.
There is no cost to the board.
Superintendent W.D ketiwell
said the annual trip is an
extension of the regular physical
educationprogram in the school.
The first of the four South
Huron trips will be for 25 to 30
members of the Senior Outers
club to the Dewitt farm west, of
Varna On February 12 with return
the next day.
Teacher John Holmes will
accompany 25 Junior Outers on a
three day winter camping: trip to

the Pinery Provincial Park leaving
the school on Friday, February 2C
,and returning Sunday.
About 20 grade 12 and 13
French students will be spending
five days on an exchange trip to
Quebec leaving February 17.
Superintendent Bob Allan Said
the exchange would be to a high
school in Quebec where Rae Wild
of the present South Huron staff
spent a year on exchange.
About 38 South Huron history
students will be travelling to
Washington on April 8 to acquire
a greater understanding and
appreciation of the. American
System. Students, of History 550
have studied the America] Con-
stitution in detail and have
completed seminar work • on the
Presidency.

Ethel and Daniel A. Pearson, also
of R.R.1, Ethel were involved in a
collision. on Concession 7 - 8, East
of County Road 12, Grey
Township. Both drivers were
injured as well as two passengers
in the Williams' vehicle, Janet
Boyns and Donald Armstrong,
both of. R.R.1, Ethel, Ontario.
On Friday, January 30, 1976,
David B. McCallum of R.R.1,
Belgrave and Mark A. Culbert of
Goderich were involved in a
collision on County. Road 20, east
of Sideroad 33-34, East
Wawanosh Township. Both
drivers were injured as well as
two passengers in the Culbert
'vehicle, Paul Gillespie and
Clarence Wilson, both from
Goderich.
On Saturday, January 31,
KevinD. Townsend of Wroxeter
was northbound on Huron County
Road 29, south of Highway 87,
Howick Township when he
swerved into the southbound lane
and struck Doreen Leek of
Wroxeter, who was walking in the

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan and
Kevin of Wyoming spent' the
weekend with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Cliff Logan and Mr. and
Mrs. George McGee.
Miss Nancy Anderson of
Lambton College, Sarnia spent
the weekend with her parents Mr.
and Mrs.Ross Anderson.
Mrs. Cliff Logan spent several
days recently at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Barry Logan of Oakville
while they were on holidays to'
Florida, Nassau and Freeport.
Mr. Ross Yuill of Elmira was a
weekend visitor with his parents
Mr. and Mr.s Clarence Yuill.

The first meeting of the
Belgrave U.C.W. of 1976 was
held in the Sunday School room
on February 3 at 8:15 with an
attendance of 28.
The meeting opened with the
worship service conducted by
Mrs. Laura Johnston and Mrs.
Helen Martin with Mrs. George
Johnston at the piano. The theme
for the meeting was "Take
Time". Hymn, "I need Thee
every Hour", was sung and Mrs.
Johnston, led in prayer. Mrs.
Helen Martin read the scripture
taken from Ecclesiastes,Chapter 3
verses 1 - 11. Mrs. Johnston gave
the meditation on the scripture.
Mrs. Martin read a poem entitled
"When I have time".

George Fear on Presbyterian
Work in Tiawan. The roll call was
answered with a verse on
"Faith" Fourteen visits to sick
and shut-ins were recorded.
The secretary Mrs.
J. C. McBurney gave her report
food for the tirst course.
Members in East Wawanosh will
supply the dessert. The members
are also urged-to bring a story,
picture or any item which can be
inserted in the Branch
Tweedsmuir History Book.
Interested - women in the
community are invited to this
historic meeting.

meeting with prayer. Lunch was
served by the hostess.
Ethel
A Euchre party was held in the
Ethel Community hall on Monday
evening , sponsored by the hall
board. Nine tables were played.
The convenor was Ross
Stephenson.

The board agreed the matter of
PD days would be left to each
individual principal and staff.
Each school principal in consul-
tation with his staff will be asked
to develop a school year calendar
for the balance of the -1975 76
school year which reflects the
best interests of the students and
submit it to the Director of
Education.

Mrs. Wh eeler called on the
HI-C who spoke on their trip to
Toc Alpha, Conference at Niagara
Falls from December 27 to
December 30. There were 625
young people at the Conference
with six of them from Belgrave
who were Glen Nixon, Scot
Lougheed, Wayne Cook, Donelda
Lamont, Janice Coultes and
Doreen Taylor.
With the report they brought
back we felt it very ,worthwhile to
have sponsored one of them.
A skit entitled "Tell Me
Doctor" was then presented
which was ,entertaining but also
had many good points to.

Institute will' be held in the W.I.
Hall on Tuesday, February 17.
This is the 65th anniversary of the
founding of the Belgrave Branch
and a dinner is planned for 12

conducted the business. Minutes
of the previous meeting were read
and approved. Thank-you notes

Vincent and accepted. A motion
was made to forward $120.00 to
the Church Treasurer to. go
