Mrs, Don Achilles is the new
librarian at the Public Library in
Walton, she succeeds Mrs. Jim
Shortreed who had held that
position since June 1971. The
library hours are Tuesdays 2 -
p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday
2 - 4 p.m. New readers are
welcome. Come in and see the
books available..

Congratulations are extended to
Mr. Nelson Reid who will
celebrate' his 80th birthday on
Monday, February 16. He is
Ladies quilt
The Boundary and 17th Unit
ladies held their January meeting
at the home of Mrs. Cliff Ritchie
when, they quilted during the
afternoon.
Mrs. George Williamson and
Mrs. C. Ritchie were in charge of
the devotions at the meeting and
served lunch. Mrs. Martin Baan
presided for the business.
27 at euchre
Twenty-seven attended the
euchre on Friday night in the
Walton Community Hall. Six
tables were in play.
Prize winners were: High lady -
Mrs.Sadie McDonald; low lady. -
Mrs. M el Jacklin, Brussels. High
man - Cliff 'Ritchie; Low Man -
Grant Elliott, Brussels. Most
zeros on car, Jim Smith,
Brussels.

charge were: Mrs. NelSon Reid;
Mrs.Ernie Stevens, Mrs. Allan
McCall and Mrs. Don Liphard.

Friday, February 20, weather
permitting.

Huron F of A
decides on lottery.
Another lottery is coming to
Huron County. Huron's
Federation of Agriculture agreed
to organize a lottery in the county
at their meeting last., week in
Seaforth.
proceeds from the lottery will
be used to help 'balance the (deal
group's budget deficit. Lottery
licences will be obtained from
each township where tickets are
sold.,

Vliet and Janice Houstonwere the
girls from this , area who left early
Saturday morning with the
Seaforth High school Trumpet
Band for _Florida
The Walton Unit ladies have
been busy quilting. Last week
they did three, quilts at Mrs. Bill
Coutts. This , week they have
another one in at Mrs. E. Stevens
