John Gaunt was appointed Tile Drain Inspector for the township for the year and Si mon Hallahan was apppointed representative to the :Farm Safety Council. Tom Orr from Orr Insurance Agency Ltd. met with council to review insurance. The Municipal Equipment Floater re Road Dept. misc. tools was increased to $5,000.00 for an additional annual premium of $25.00. Mrs. Ene McGregor, and Don Kennedy, representing Wingha'm Recreation — Community Centre Board met with council re some form of financial assistance from the township in order to defray ever increasing recreation costs . No decision was taken. John Gaunt, Tile Drain Inspector for the township will att• end convention in London. Membership of $25. to be paid to the Ontario Farm Drainage Association. A grant of $25.00 will. be given to the Ability Fund and a grant of $50. to the Huron County' Plowmen's Association. Council accepted a bid from Liatrry Weigel, Mildmay, on the Deacon-Thompson Municipal Drain at $11,978. for installation only; Keet , Drainage Works at $2,595.00 for installation only, subject to the approval of E.W.Shifflett, Drainage Engineer and ratepayers' approval. A membership of $50 will be paid to the Ontario Association of Rural Municipalities. Ross Taylor, council's appointee to the Maitland Valley Conservation authority will be appointed by the council to vote in. favour of the resolutiOn to enlarge the area of jurisdiction of the authority by addition of the watersheds. Council accepted the budget as presented by the East Wawanosh Recreation, Parks and Community Centre Board, approving expenditures of $10,569 plus $350. for grants. Road accounts of $12,827.25 and General Accounts of $2,000.81 as prese rated were passed `and paid.
