' We are happy to report that the Flu bug has cleared- up
and we hope that programs 'will soon be back to normal.
Activities were carried on in each of the areas during 'the
pasts month such as sing songs, bingos and the showing, of
coloured slides of birthdays and events at the Home.
A special program was arranged and directed by Jim
Lawrie, of Blyth, for "Family Night" in honour of Bobbie
Burns Birthday. Jim sang several Scottish songs and Mrs.
Ella Richmond was accompanist for the program. There were
dance numbers by -Kim Craig and Karen Glousher; Beth and
Laurie Charters; Kathy Battye.and Ted Elliott. There were
instrumentals by Jim McA11, violin, and a combination of
vocal and instrumentals by the Elliott brothers Rick and Mel.
The Gospel Players sang several religious numbers and they
include James Wharton, Robert Esther and the Brommer
Family.
Assistant Administrator Wayne Lester led the Bible Study
last week and Mrs. Elsie Henderson was organist for the
service.

MRS. EDGAR G. GAUNT
Mrs. Edgar G. Gaunt, R.R.1,
Belgrave, 69, died in Wingham
and District Hospital on January
28th after a short illness.
She was born in Glenannon
Turnberry Township,,
The former Barbara Agnes
Weir, R.R.3, Wingham, was
married on November 26, 1932 at
East Wawanosh Township to
Edgar G. Gaunt, who survives.
Surviving are Barbara (Mrs.
Eric Routliffe) Ottawa, James
Gaunt, Markham and John Gaunt
at home.She was predeceased by
one sister Mary.
She is also surided by three
grandchildren, Andrew, Calrolynt
and Douglas Gaunt.
She was educated in Wingham
High , School and Stratford
Normal School. She was a
member of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Belgrave.
The funeral was held Saturday,
January 31, 1976 from the
R.A.Currie & Son Funeral Home,
Wingham at 2 P.M. with Reiv.
Robert H. Armstrong, St.
Andrews' Presbyterian Church,
Wingham, officiating. Burial
Wingham Cemetery.
Pallbearers were ' Arnold
Bruce, Albert Bieman, John
Gaunt, Kenneth Mason, Roy
Robinson and Mason Robinson.
Flower bearers were John Doig
and Russell Gaunt.
MRS. WILLIAM SHOLDICE
Mrs.William Sholdice, 82, of
Walton, died Saturday night
January 31st at Huronview in
Clinton.
The former Martha
McCutcheon, she is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Ian (Elva)
Wilbee; a son, Mac, and five
grandchildren, all of Walton.
The body was at the M.L.Watts
funeral home in Brussels. The
funeral service was held
Wednesday at 2 p.m., with burial
in Brussels Cemetery.
NORMAN McLARTY
The death .of Norman McLarty
of Brussels occurred in Wingham
and District Hospital on Sunday,
February 8th, after a lengthy
illness. He was in his 72nd year.
The greater part of his lifetime
was spent in North Dorchester
Township before coming to the
Brussels community ten years
ago. He had been engaged in
farming and transport driving
prior to his illness.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Ha Cole, of Brussels.
He was predeceased by a
daughter, Marion Ethel; one son,
James Norman; one brother, and
two sisters.
The funeral service was held
from the M.L.Watts Funeral
Home on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
with the Rev. E. LeDrew
officiating.
Temporary entombment was in
Brussels. Cemetery Chapel with
burial to take place later in
Dorchester Cemetery.
EVA JARDINE
Following an illness that
extended over the past two
months, Mrs. Evelyn (Eva) Jean
Jardine, of 312 North Victoria
Street, Tweed, died at the
Belleville General Hospital, on
Wednesday, February 4, 1976 at
the age of 79 years.
Mrs. Jardine was born at
Lanark, Ontario, the daughter of
the late W.C. and Margaret Stead
(both deceased) and she is the
widow of the late Edward
Lawrence Jardine, who prede-
ceased his wife a number of years
ago. The deceased is immediately
survived by the following
children: Lorne R. Jardine, of 312
Victoria Street, North, Tweed;
Mrs.R.L. (Helen) King, Windsor,
Ontario and Leslie L. Jardine of
349 Arthur Street, Tweed.
Also surviving are the following
brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ida
Dunlop, Carleton Place; Mrs.
Margaret Kenny, Lanark; Hugh
Stead, Lanark. She was prede-
ceased by Agnes McCurdy, John
Stead and Bessie Buffam.
She had received her education
at Lanark Schools, and had lived
in the Tweed area since the year
1943. Prior to that she, her
husband and family had resided
at Ethel. She is also mourned by
four grandchildren.
The body rested at the
McConnell Funeral H ome,
Tweed, until Saturday, February
7 when the funeral service was
conducted with the Reverend
Everett Hawkes as the officiating
clergyman. Interment was in
White Cemetery, Poland, Ontario.
The 4F1 Homemaking Club
programme in Huron County is
beginning a new project, entitled
"A Touch of Stitchery".
During this course, the girls
will be taught seven embroidery
stitches and their vacations, with
a special emphasis on design
Huronview
principles and, colour co-ordina-
tion. Members will have the
opportunity to make a "learning
stitches" articles, plus a "free
choice" item.
