Intertuent at Brussels tem:et-dry: (Continued from Page 2 spending. The Government is cutting back on' grants. $3,000,000.00 would be a sizeable start. With the projected rise in property taxes, the present rise in hydro, telephone, gas oil food and everything else we have to buy, how can the senior citizen or any other household in the community find this extra money? 1 have been told that the average wage earlier earns $7,000.00 or less per annum and the majority have to commute to some other location to Work. Each and everyone of us, when we, have to 'purchase anything would like to buy the best,' but in the majority of cases we have to settle for less: So why does a small, village have to have the best when •a less expensive one would do? I am not aware that any less expensive solution has been investigated by the county engineer or council. A quote from the London Free Pres•January 23, regarding a meeting held in Brussels January 21: "I think everyone has a better understanding of it now", Reeve' McCutcheon said of the nearly four hour meeting. "If council reafirms its agreement with the Ontario Environment ministry construction of the system is expected to, start in 1977" I'm quite sure that :the better "understanding" that everyone had is that the council will not have a vote. All but a very few at the meeting were very much against the expensive system, If we may have a vote, then we are satisfied that the majority vote will rule.
