The Christmas meeting of the. Brussels Friendship Club, Dec, 17, began with a pot-luck dinner in the Canadian Legion Hall. The committee in charge had arranged a very attractive smorgasbord table, replete with lighted candles and Christmas arrangements. Grace was sung and the guests helped themselves to the variety of delicious foods. Following the meal, President Edwin Miller called the meeting together and extended Christmas greetings to all. A motion was, introduced and approved that two members, Mrs.Verna Tunney and Mrs. Elsie Shaw, who are also Legion Auxiliary members, be given a gift to show the appreciation of the Club for their presence and help in the kitchen at each of the meetings during the year. A program ofChristmas music followed with Mrs. W.CKerr at as piano accompanist. Christmas carols were sung with Mrs.Edna Hackwell directing. Mrs. J. Van Vliet sang two leasing Christmas solos. A moment of silence followed in memory of Mrs. Russell Marks, a member of the club, whose death occurred on Dec. 7 in Seaforth Hospital. Several violin selections by Mrs. Phyllis Mitchell were enjoyed. January meeting plans were announced and the meeting came to a close. Twelve tables of progressive euchre were played.
