Three new residents were welcomed to the Home at.
Monday afternoon's activities Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs..Bell and
George Jenner. The Clinton Christian 'Reforined volunteers
assisted with the afternoon's program of old tytne music
provided by Marie Flynn and Norman Speir. Theresidents
enjoyed a sing-a-long of tunes that had been popular during
the war years.'
Earl and Martha Heywood, of Wingham, who have been
entertaining on C.K.N.X. radio and Television for several
years provided the "Family Night" program. Earl and
Martha are well known to the residents and sang several
favourite country and western songs with the last part of their
program consisting of sacred numbers. Mrs. McKay, a
personal friend of the Heywood's expressed the appreciation
of the residents.
The Over 90 Club met on Wednesday afternoon in the north
dining area with twenty-seven members enjoying games of
euchre and crokinole. Two new members were welcomed to
the club, Mrs. McKay and Austin Dexter. The Walkerton
Club volunteers assisted with the activities _and served tea
and cookies.
Mr.Dick Roorda led the Sunday evening Christian Reform
song service with special musical numbers by the Roorda
amily accompanied by Mrs. Henderson.
Mr. Fred Turner of Bayfield and-John McCallum of Blyth
were welcomed to the Home at Monday's activities.
rs.Elsie Henderson and. Norman Speir prbvided the Old
yme music for the afternoon with a sing-a-long and a vocal
olo by Morgan Dalton.
The residents presented their first "Family Night"
rogram this week and by all reports it was greatly
ppreciated. The program was arranged and directed by •
Mrs.Elsie Henderson and included, vocal solos, songs by a
mens quintette„,readings musical numbers by a kitchen band
nd a pantomine was performed by two guests Pat andMike.

Plans were advanced for the
provision of lights at the Walton
ball park next year when the
Walton Recreation Committee
met Monday evening at the home
of Mr.' and Mrs. Gerald Ryan.
Nominated for a one year term
are: Joe Steffler, Bill Humphries
and Howard HackWell and for a
two year term are: Ann Ryan,
Marie McGavin, Carol Collins
and • Laverne Godkin.
Another meeting of the
committee is scheduled
Thursday evening when there will
be further discussion of the ball
park light project.
The Walkathon is scheduled for
next May.
Many native Canadian trees
are excellent for ornamental or
shade planting.

Hockey teams got the season off
to a good start in the past week
with four wins and a tie. •
On Wednesday evening the
Pee Wee "A" team was at home
to Teeswater and while holding a
6 - 4 lead at the end of the second,
fell behind in the third period and
then rallied in the last minute of
play to pick up a 8 - 8 tie. Scoring
for Brussels were Ken Cousins, 3,
Steve Knight, Stewart Cardiff,
Lyle Campbell, Brian Tenpas,
Ktvin--Deitner one each. Assists
went to Stewart Cardiff, Doug,
McArter, Brad Wright, Brian
Tenpas, Steve Knight, Ken
Higgins, Leslie Black.
The same night the Bantams'
defeated Blyth 7 - 1. Brussels
