Mrs. Glenn Golley opened the meeting with the call to worship, and "I to The Hills" was sung. Mrs. Golley welcomed the visitors from 'Gorrie W.M.S, and Bluevale U.C.W. The scripture and •the medita- • tion,' '"fhanksgivtng". were given by Mrs. Keith Moffitt, after whiCh she offered prayer. The audience was favoured by two solos, "Bless This House" and "Fill My Cup, Lord" by Paul Moffatt of Bluevale. After a short business period offering was Teceived by Mrs. Gordon Mundell and Mrs. Harvey Robertson ads dedicated by Mrs. Golley. - Mrs. Golley introduced the guest speaker, Captiart Bruce Hardy, Wingham, Salvation Army Citadil. Captain Hardy spoke on his work with the Salvation Army and related the many problems of the world today to solutions found from verses he quoted from the scripttire. The keen incentive that drew him to work with the army was' his work with underprivi- leged children in British Colum- bia, his home Province. It was a most challenging and satisfying task. Salvation Army work is chang- ing very rapidly because of changing times. They have to change their approach because of the different types of problems. Captain Hardy was stationed in Thunder Bay before coming to Wingham, where his main job was working with drug addicts. Three major problems facing society today are drug addicts, astrology -and witch craft. These are' all props, stimulants or crutches people use to try to have a better life. he said. Underneath they have serious problems and must deal with these problems face to face immediately and get to the root of them. Throw away these crutches and the answers are in the scripture, He Stated physical surroundings are strong to most of us, even when created in God's image, but we are empty spiritually unless God is in us.
