Clerk King said that Brussels
council, the Ministry of the
Environment and the project
engineer have to try and prove to
the OMB at the hearing that the
sewage treatment system is nec-
essary. Thert, he. said, the object-
ors have a chance to state their
case to the board.
The OMB can give a decision
on the day of the hearing, clerk
King said. "But more likely
they'll look at it themselves first
and then send us their decision."
Building permits were granted
to Condign Ltd., Bryan Purdon,
Lynn Havemaia, Dr. Culbert,
Hartley Rutledge, Ted Kumm
and Calyton Sauve.

Mrs. Williamson said she and
her husband were working at the
barn, about a mile south of their
home farm, when a fire started in
the corner of the barn where hay
was stored. She said they had had
a fire burning quite far away in a
field. and "The wind must have
whipped some sparks back."
She said they had to watch
helplessly as flames spread.."In a
Minute it Was too late." There is a
well on the property but Mrs.
Williamson said there was no way
of getting the Water up to reach

neighbour called Blyth but there
wasn't a great deal they could do.
The barn was completely down an

10 miles for
Olympics
1.04 people entered the Brus-
sels Lions 'Let's Get Together'
Olympathon '75 to help raise
money for the Canadian athletes
participating in the 1976 Olym-
pics in Montreal. Only two
walkers had to be assisted in
completing the entire course and'
they were both under six, John
Lowe and. Donald Hastings. Each
did cover at least 5 miles.
Vera Hastings, 58, was the
oldest walker taking part. She and
Ethel Brewer had no intentions of
walking the 10 miles when they
started outs They were just
planning on keeping sprne of the
younger children company during
the early part of the trip but once
they got started they couldn't
stop and they covered the 10
miles in less then 4 hours.
Joey Adams was the first to
finish in a time of 2 hours and 5
minutes. He was closely followed
by Jimmy Scott, Terry Straeten,
and Barbara Moran,-the first girl,
to finish.
Four 'LIONS' followed the last
of the walkers through town to the
ball park and they even carried

Brussels Council agreed to
crack down on violations at the
village owned mobile home park,
at their meeting Monday night.
New trailer park occupants will
be required to pay a $200 deposit
to the village when they apply for
space in the park. If all park
regulations aren',t. met within 60
days of occupancy on the site, the
$200 will be forfeited and a notice
of eviction will be issued.
— Park regulations include skirt-
ing along the base of a trailer.
Councillors decided to have vil-
lage clerk Bill King write all park
tenants who are currently not
meeting the terms of their trailer
