Favourable weather brought a
good attendance to Brussels Fall
Fair Wednesday. Agricultural
Society Secretary Edwin Martin
stated that while it was not a
record it was one of the best.
While inside exhibits were
down somewhat, they were of
good quality.
People who visited the Crystal
Palace on Tuesday evening, to
view the exhibits at their leisure,
were entertained by a most
enjoyable variety program.
Following the parade on
Wednesday, the Fair was
officially opened by Murray Scott,
Director of District 8.

The 4-H competitions, with
Blyth 4-H members participating
as well as the Brussels 4-H clubs,
generated a great deal of interest.
This, as well as the fact that Blyth
fair has been discontinued,
together with the fine sunny
weather, swelled the fair crowds
here.
The heavy morning fog .dissi-
pated, the sun shone bright and
warm and a large number of
spectators line the streets to
watch the Brussels Fair Parade.
Students from Brussels Public
School, Grey Central Settool and
Walton School marched from the
ball park to the fair grounds to, the
skirl of the pipes of Brussels

represented the riding at Queen's

number of attractive, decorated,
small motorized floats; numerous
decorated bicycles and eleven

Brussels had a float, also the
Lions Club Cage with three Lions,
in appropriate costume, who
caused merriment when one Lion
escaped the cage and returned to
it carrying a young lady captured
from the street.
The parade.was escorted by an
O.P.P. cruiser followed by two
cars carrying dignataries and fair
