School Opens
On Tuesday, September 2

Township Simon Hallahan offi-
cially opened the fair. After the
opening games and races were
held.
This fall East Wawanosh Public
School hopes to play soccer with
other schools from the area.

Anniversary
A family gathering was held on
Sunday, September 14 at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Logan
in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Roy
MacSween who were celebrating
their 35th wedding anniversary.
They were married on August
24, 1940 by Rev. J. B. Towend in
Belgrave. Mrs. MacSween was
the former Edna Vincent. They
have one son, Gary.
Relatives were present from
Kincardine, Oakville, Toronto,
Wy om ing Burlington and
Belgrave.

Mrs. Mac Engel
The Sacrament of Holy Com-
munion will be celebrated in
Knox Church next Sunday morn-
ing, September 21st at 9:45.
Mrs. Lylle cordon was hostess
for the September meeting of the
W.M.S. of Knox Presbyterian
Church. Twelve ladies were
present.
A poem was read by Mrs. Jack
Knight and Mrs. Leslie Knight
read two numbers and led in
prayer. All joined in for the Lord's.
Prayer. "Breathe on me, breath
of God" was sung and Mark ch.
1, verses 1-2 2 was read alter-
nately. The leader gave a reading
followed with prayer. "The
Unautomated Man" was the title
of an article read by Mrs. Gordon
Engel.The hymn "0 Master, let
me walk with The " was sung.
Mrs. Earl Dunn elcomed our
visitor Mrs. T.L.Scott of
Cromarty, who brought greetings
from Stratfor d Presbyterial. Mrs.
Scott spoke mainly on W.M.S.
work and said there had been
some changes. The W.M.S. have
joined with the "World Board of
Missions" who make plans for
the work and the money goes to
the Board. She also commented
on the "Blue Book" and
suggested working out a program
using it. Council have protested
to the CBC and CRTC on some of
their programs shown on TV.
Improvements in the "Glad.
Tidings" were mentioned. As a
Centennial project it has been
suggested that every W.M.S.
member contribute one dollar to
the Yokohama Nursery School.
Mrs. Scott said that the W.M.S.
is the only group in a church that
is interested in studying things
outside of the local group. She
recommended the pamphlet
"Alive" which is obtainable from
the Book Room. Following her t
alk Mrs. Scott led in prayer.
Mrs. Dunn presided for the
business when roll call was
answered with a verse conaining
"Learn' . Cards and visits were
recorded by Mrs. Gordon, Mrs.
Leslie Knight read the minutes
and Mrs. Jack Knight gave the
treasurer's report. It was decided
to hold the Annual Bazaar with a
date decided later. Mrs. Scott
announced the executive meeting
to be h eld in Str atford on
October 14 at 1:30 p.m. "The Day
Thou Gayest Lord is ended" was
sung rollowed by closing prayer
by le 'en Tea and squares were
served by Mrs Dunn, Mrs.
Gordon Engel and the hostess.

A miscellaneous shower for
Nancy Knight was held on Friday
evening ' at the Harvey Smith
home. Approximately 50 relatives
and friends attended and enjoyed
game s and a social time. Mrs.
Donna Wells, London, read an
address to the guest of honor and
many useful gifts were presented.
