Walton boys have
draw at ball park

Lorenzo (Lew) Dowe Frain,
ssed away suddenly at his
sidence on August 4, 1975. The

Lew was the son of the late
renzo Dowe Frain, Sr., and the

ended school at No. 4, Grey,

Mrs.. Mary McCall
Walton Squirt boys held a draw
at Walton. Ball Park on June 29th
during the game between
Brussels and Walton.
Draws were made by Paul
Humphries, home plate umpire,
Bill Smith, Base umpire, and Bob
Thomas, Brussels coach.
Winners were: Frank Stretton,
Brussels, $25; Mildred Traviss,
Walton, $15. and Marie Coutts,
Walton, $10.
All members and coaches sold
tickets, Danny Achilles won the
prize for selling the most, tickets
of 30 books. The money will be
used to buy new ball pants for the
boys. They are most gratified to
all who bought tickets and
attended their games.

Conveners Mrs. Jan Van Vliet
Jr and Mrs. Graeme Craig will be
in charge of the program for the
Walton Women's Institute on
Wednesday, August 20th at 8:15
p.m. Slides will be shown of the
bus trip taken to the Elmira Area
in June.Anyone that took this trip
and are interested in seeing the
pictures are most welcome.
This is the Resolutions meeting
and the roll call is to be answered
by your telephone number
backwards and there will be a
"telephone debate".

Several ladies of the Brussels
Horticultural Society met at the
home of the president, Mrs.
Phyllis Dunk, when plans were
made for the annual turkey
supper in Brussels on friday,
August 22 following the flower
show. An invitation was read
from Blyth Horticulture to attend
their flower show on August 28.
Weekend guests, with Mrs.
Phyllis Dunk were Mr. and Mrs.
Alf Wood and Wendy and Mr.
and Mrs. David Dunk, Allan and
Darlene of Corunna. Allan and
Darlene remained with their
grandmother for a week's
holidays.
Mrs. Maud Leeming, Mr.
James Clark, Keith and Ann, and
Mr.. William Bennett were
Sunday supper guests with Mrs.
Kathleen Danby in Brussels.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Lundy
of. Hamilton spent the Civic
Holiday weekend at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Allan McCall.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Harris, John
and Mark of Kingston spent a few
days at his father's home in the
village, also visited the father in
Wingham Hospital.
John Leeming arrived home
from Calgary, Alberta, where he
will spend a holiday at the home
of his parents, W.J.Leeming and
family in McKillop Twp. and visit
his mother, Ethel Leeming in
Seaforth Community Hospital.
Sask., in 1928; sister (Ida) Mrs.
Percy Tyerman of Exeter in 1949
and brother, Joseph Frain of
Cabri, Sask. in 1968. He is
survived by two sisters, (Loreno)
Mrs. Reuben McInnes of Exeter
and (Winona) Mrs. Edwin Martin
of Brussels, nephews and nieces;
Allan & Barrie Frain, Cabri;
Leonard Hoga of Saskatoon, Mrs.
John Kelsey Of Cabri, Mrs. John
Tooth of Toronto, and 11 grand
nephews and nieces, 13 great
grand nephews and nieces.
Temporary entombment was in
Brussels Memorial Chapel with
evening burial in Brussels
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wm.
Stephenson Jr., Frank Alcock,
Jack Mitchell, James McTaggart,
Jack McCutcheon, and Mungo
McFarlane. Flower bearers were
Watson. Sholdice, James
McFarlane and Melville Dennis.
Floral tributes were many.
Numerous neighbours and
friends gave donations to the
Memorial Chapel Fund and
Horticultural Society.
Those attending the funeral
from a distance were: Mr. Allan
Frain of Cabri, Sask., Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Hoga of Saskatoon,
Sask., Mr. and Mrs. John Tooth,
Lorraine and Gregory of Toronto.
Friends and relatives attended
from Exeter, Gorrie, Clinton,
Molesworth and Bluevale.
MRS. A. A. FOWLER
. Mrs. Pearl Fowler of Port Elgin
passed away in the Owen Sound
General and Marine Hospital on
Sunday July 27 in her 77th year.
Wife of A. A. Fowler, she was
the former Pearl V. Payn, eldest
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Bernice Payn of Grey twp.
She is survived by two sons and
a daughter. Don of Port Elgin,
Ross of Southampton and Mrs.
Bill Adams (John) of Amherst-
burg. Also one sister Mrs. Harry
Bolger (Gertrude) of Brussels.
One brother Cecil passed away
three years ago.
She also leaves to mourn her
loss, eight grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at St.
Johns Anglican Church Port Elgin
at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 29.
Burial in Park Lawn Cemetary
Port Elgin.
