girl grade 8 grads at Grey, Central School. Some are in the photo but the whole

On Thursday, June 19th, the
Grey Central. Softball Teams went
to Turnberry Central. School to ,
participate in a Two-Pitch .Tourn-
ament. The Boy's came home
with first place, and the girls-also
came home' with :,,first place.
Everyone knows that this is the
last week of school, and we hope
that everyone will pass into, the
next grade. On Wednesday, we
are having the 'AwardS Day'. On
Tuesday, We are having a film
called 'The Snowball Express'.
Tobight is the Grade 8 Gradua-
tion Banquet. The parents are
coming, and there will be a
smorgasboard. The guest speak-
er is Charles Thomas.
The Bicycle Rodeo was held on
Tuesday,. June 17th. The winners
were; Primary Boys: Brian Card-
iff, 2nd; Doug Beirnes. The Girls
were; 1st: Judy Engel, and 2nd:
Denise Smith. The Junior Boys'
winners were; 1st: Murray Keffer
and 2nd: Franklin Hiemstra.
Girls winners were. 1st: Joanne
Knight and 2nd: Pam Engel.
Intermediate Boys' 1st: Jeff
Smith, 2nd: Phillip Weber. The
GirlS Winners were, 1st:. Christine
Lichte, 2nd: Joanne Triebner.
Senior Boys' winners were, 1st:
Arnold den Dekker,' and 2nd:
Chuck Lynn. Senior Girls winners
lst: Cathy Boneschansker,
and 2nd: Barbie Cameron.
Grade 8's Trip to Toronto: By

On Friday June 13th the Grade
8 class of Grey Central departed
from Ethel at 7:00 a.m. for their
bus trip to Toronto. 'We arrived in
Toronto at 10:00 a.m. where we
first toured' the Parliament Build-
ings. Murray Gatint spoke to the
class and was photographed. We
sat in the gallery where we
listened to a question period
which was at that time in session.
At 11:00 we left the Parliament
Buildings and were on our way to
theCommercial Bank. While we
were there we viewed the entire
city from the observatory. At
12:30 we departed to the Ontario -
Science. Centre where we had
lunch.
We toured the Science Centre
from 1:30 to 4:30 and left front
there to go to the Malton Airport.
There we observed the runways
and layout of the airport from the
roof of the building.
At 5:30 we were on our way to
We were on our way back to
Ethel at 8:00 p.m. and arrived at.
9:30 p.m. This trip to. Toronto
was enjoyed by all and was an
experience we shall never forget.
