WI hears about missionaries
presided for the business and told
of the coming bus trip on 'June 25
to Toronto. The bus leaves from
Stratford and plans are to visit the
Presbyterian Church Offices,
Evangel Hall, Ewart College, and
Scott Mission. 'Several members
expressed a wish to go.
Twelve cards and twenty visits
were recorded by Mrs. Perrie in
the absence of Mrs. Lylle Gordon.
The roll call was a verse
containing "father". The
treasurer's report showed our
givings down from the same time
last year. The Hymn "We plough
the fields and scatter was sung
and the closing prayer by Mrs.
Fischer. Mrs, W. Strickler
assisted the hostess in serving
lunch.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert
Hetherington and Helen visited
on the weekend with relatives in
Brockville.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Muchan,
Londdn visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Dunn on sunday.
Mr. Winston McEachern,
Cambridge, Galt, spent the week
end with Mr. and Mrs. Wes
McEachern. Mrs. Wes.
McEachern accompanied them to
Galt for a visit.
The third meeting of the
Cranbrook Garden Gophers was
held on June 14 at Veitchs. The
roil call "A new vegetable I have,
planted in my garden" was
answered by all members. Ellen
Lefor and Arlene Strickler will be
commentators for the
demonstration "Let's toss a .
salad" at Achievement Day. The
leaders dismissed "Special
garden culture" and "insect and
disease control', "vegetable
cooking and nutritional
requirements that vegetables
meet". The meeting: was closed
with the 4-H motto.
