Intermediate
men's ball in
small slump
During the interval ,since the
last article, the Brussels Interme-
diate men have been in a small
slump, losing four games in a
row.
The team lost two gaines early
in June, 6 to 5 to Brodhagen and 9
to 2 to Kirkton. Both teams could
have won either game as Kirkton
scored 5 runs in the final inning to
put the game out of reach, While
Brodhagen had to fight back from
a 3 run defecit. Last week they
lost -41-2 to Baden in a poorly
played ,game and then lost 6 to 2
while watching the . Wellesly
pitcher strike out 21 batters.
The ball team is convinced that
they can win in this "league by
playing-the type of ball that they
are capable of playing. They play'
competitive ball . against strong
teams with vetygood pitchers.
Batting will improve as the men'
get used to facing faster and more
cobsistent•pitcherSthan they have
seen in the. past. With a little
support from the Brussels and
area ball 'fans,- the Brussels
Intermediate Men, could win a lot
of ball , games this year.

the tennis courts at the far end of the Lions Park in
Brtissels one day this week. Kids in the village try
hard to keep their game up at the old courts which
aren't in too good shape as the area, floods every
