THE BELLE .OF THE BALL — This lovely looking lady gat all dressed up in her
most elegant best to have her photo taken by Brussels photographer H. R. Brewer.
With her ostrich feather hat, white gloves and parasol trimmed to match her dress,
she must have been ready for some very fashionable event. Does anyone know who
she is and what the year was?
The Voice of the Unborn, the
Wingham and area Pro-Life
Group, held a meeting at Rev. K.
Hawthorn's on April 28.
The new board of directors as
elected at the Annual Meeting
were all present; From their Own
numbers they elected the

Mr. Keet chaired the
remainder of the meeting. New
business included discussion on
the possibility of getting Pro-Life
commercials on C.K.N.X. radio,
plans for a Membership drive,
and the purchase of more
literature.

Mrs. Mac Engel
Mr. Leslie Perrie, son of Mr.
and Mrs.. John. A. Perrie has
completed his first year in Knox
College and leaves on. Tuesday for
Campbeiton, New Brunswick,
where he will spend the summer.
The Sacrament of Baptism Will
be administered next Sunday
morning in Knox Church. Miss
Pauline Brown will be at the
service and will speak.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Huether
and girls, Cambridge, Galt,
visited on the weekend with
Mrs.Glenn Huether,
Mrs. Henderson,Cambridge,
Galt, is visiting her son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Clare Veitch.
The first meeting of the 4-H
Garden Club was held on April 26
at the home of Mrs.Clare Veitch,
Officers elected were: President
Rosanne Engel; Vice President
-Tracy Engel; Treasurer - Arlene
Strickler; Secretary - Janet
Veitch.
Mrs. N. Lefor went over
objective of the club and
requirements of Club members,
also record books and choosing
garden site, and annual plants.
The meeting closed with the 4-H
motto.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Machan,
Listowel, visited Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Dunn on Saturday evening.
In the Y.P. S Walkathon on
Saturday 37 walked the 10 miles
and 2 pre-schoolers didn't finish.
One 5 yr. old girl went 8 miles.
Several mothers drove cars and
checked on the walkers at
intervals. Others were at the
church where they served
sandwiches and drinks after.
Eight finished at 11.20 and all'.
were back by 12.45. Between
$500 and $600 was realized. All
money is to be returned along
with the pledge sheets to the-Y.P.
secretary, Sandra Cameron, by
May 11. All proceeds are to be
used for church activities,
including missions. Following is a
