Candle-light added to the
setting when Rebecca Jane Nolan
and David Martin Young
exchanged marriage vows in St.
Peter's Cathedral, London, on
Friday, February 28th at 8:30
o'clock. Father Wharton
performed the wedding
ceremony.
The bride was given in
marriage by her brother, Donald
Nolan, of Walton.
Lace adorned the neckline and
long sleeves of the bride's gown
of white jersey with chapel train.
Her two-tiered shoulder-length
veil was held in place by a tiara of
seed-pearls and she carried a
bouquet. of red roses.
Marie Nolan, sister of the bride
as maid of honor, and Lois Foster,
friend of the bride as bridesmaid,
wore identical gowns of wine-red
velvet with detachable hoods.
They carried bouquets of white
roses and mums.
The groom was attended by his
younger brother, James, as best
man.
Robert Young, elder brother of
the groom, was usher.
During the Signing of the
register . the organist, Mr. Paul
Wickett, played "Ave Maria".
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at the Legion
Hall in Thamesford.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Nolan of
Seaforth, while Mr. and Mrs.
John Young of Thamesford are
the parents of the groom.
The young couple are residing
in London.

it Local policemen were honoured
II at a Police Appreciation Night by
the Knights of Columbus on
Thursday.
The presentation of the
"Certificate of Merit", to local
police and OPP, was the highlight
l); when some 90 members of the K.
of C. of District 31 met at the •
Father Stephen Eckert Council
'1 Rooms, St. Columban.
The special night was
organized by the District Deputy,
VI' Grand Knig hts and executive
1:1 ; members of District 31 which is
composed of 3 councils, Goderich,
Seaforth and Stratford.
District Deputy Ed. Murray,
Stratford, Was chairman for the
r evening. He extended a sincere
welcome to the 22 police guests
and expressed thanks for the
excellent work they are doing on
behalf of all citizens in each
community. Befere introducing,
the guests, Mr . Murray outlined
I a number of hazards anal
cascade of pink tinted mums• and
carnations.
The maid of Honour was Miss
Joan Black of RR 1 Belgrave. She
wore a pink polyester crepe with
pale pink lace appliques and
puffed sleeves and back ties. She
carried a white bouquet of flowers
with trailing ribbons.
Best man was Murray
McNichol or RR 2 Blyth. Ushers
were Donald Dunbar or RR 1
Belgrave and Ronald McNichol of
RR 2 Blyth.
For a wedding trip to Niagara
Falls .the bride wore a green and',
white pant suit with black
accesories and a white corsage.
Grandparents attending were
the bride's grandmother, Mrs.
Margaret Dunbar of Belgrave and
the groom's grandmother, Mrs.
Annie McNichol of Blyth.
The couple will reside at RR 2
Blyth.

line of duty.
Policemen were from Goderich,
Wingham, Sebringville,
Stratford, St. Marys and Listowel.
Unable to attend were
representatives from Seaforth,
Mitchell and Clinton.
A number ' of the guests
following the presentation' of
certificates spoke oridfly,
expressing their thanks and
appreciation for the honor
extended to them on this special
occasion.

Grand Knight, Al Grant, Kilroy

Rau, Grand Knight of Father

The evening closed with an
hour of cards, followed by flinch:
District Deputy President
Sister Jean Bridge of Morning
Star Rebekah Lodge , Brussels,
arranged a banquet in honour of
the President of the Rebekah
Assembly of Ontario, Sister Grace
Love of Port Perry. The dinner
was held in the Brussels United
Church basement on Tuesday
evening April 15.
Ninety-five guests including
members of Pride of Huron and
Amber. Lodges and officers and
members of Brussels Lodge
attended.
Guests included Bro. and Siste
Grace Love, D.D.P., Sis. Jean
Bridge, D.D. G. M. Bro, E.
Chipchase and D.D.G.W. of the
Grand Encampment Bro. Don
McGregor.
During dinner a sing song was
led by-Sis. Verna Thomas, Sarah
Stephenson and Barb
McCutcheon followed by the
introductions of head table guests
by Sis. Jean Bridge.
The lodge members held a
special meeting in the Lodge Hall
where the Rebekah' Degree was
conferred under the capable
direction of Sis. Vera Hastings,
Sis. Grace Love congratulated
the staff on their work, the
Hensall and Exeter Lodges on
their participation in the meeting
and spoke briefly on lodge work,
The other dignitaries spoke
briefly.
Lunch was served by the
committee in charge.
On April 22 District Deputy Pr
President Jean Bridge will make
her official visit to her home
lodge.

Belgrave and Raymond Charles
McNichol of RR 2 Blyth were
married in Knox Presbyterian
Church, Belgrave on Saturday,
April 15 at seven o'clock. Rev.
E.G. Nelson offiCiated.
They are the children of Mr.
and Mrs. Alan Dunbar and Mr.
and Mrs. Aubrey McNichol.
The church was decorated with
pink and white •floral arrange-
ments. Mrs. Wm. Dalrymple
was organist and played tradi-
tional wedding music.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a long flowing
gown of French Crystalette in
princess styling with small stand-
up collar and four cornered cuffs.
The trim on the dress was small
white daisies with pink centres.
Her headpiece was a shoulder
length veil held with handmade
open Juliet cap. She carried a
K of C honour more ,
than 20 policemen
in St. Columban
