and cars shovelled out to get back to the normal

Corn Oink
is planned
Farmers in Huron and Perth
counties are invited 'to attend a
corn planter clinic, at the Stratford
Fairgrounds on Thursday, •
.April 10, at 88 p.m.
The clinic is sponsored by the
Huron Soil and Crop Infprove-
ment Association and will include
planting depth, plant population,
corn . rootworm, fertilizer place-
ment and points of wear on
planter.
In charge of this part of the
program will be Pat Lynch, area
soils and crop specialist and Mike
Miller, Huron's Associate Agri-
culture representative.
Setting and calibrating and
repairs and maintenance will be
handled by Perth Farm Supply for
International Planters an d
Claassen Farm Equipment "for
John Deere planters.

ACW makes plans for Confirmation service

The April meeting of the
Belgrave A.C.W. was held at the
home of Mrs. Robert Higgins on
Tuesday afternoon with nine
members and five visitors
present.
Mary Isabel Nethery led in the
opening prayers and the Lord's
prayer was repeated in unison.
Mrs. Hugh Rinn read the
Scripture lesson. The minutes of
the last meeting and the
correspondence were read by the
secretary, Mrs. Clare Van Camp.
The treasurer's report was given
by Mrs. Alex Nethery.The roll
call was a verse about Easter or
Spring.
Plans were made for the
Rev., Carson closed the meeting
with prayer, grace was sung and
lunch served by .the hostess.
4-H Clubs elect
The second meeting of
Belgrave 3 4-H Club was held on
March 31 in the Belgrave
Community Centre. The meeting
began with 4-H Pledge and
motto. Brenda Nethery led the
roll call. The girls thought of a
name for our club which is
"Super Sewers",
Mrs. Robert Gordon talked
about different textures, lines and
colours of material. Mrs. Gordon
also showed many ways of folding
a scarf.
Mrs. James Bakelaar and the
girls talked about' choosing a
pattern and choosing a blouse.
The girls answered some
questions about "Pattern
Symbols", choosing a style and
fabrics and suit yourself.
The meeting closed with 4-H
creed.
Beigrave
The first meeting of Belgrave I
was held in the Belgrave Arena at
4 p.m. on March 24. The meeting
opened with the 4-H pledge and
motto. The roll call was "Why did
you decide to join 4-H? and
everyone answered in turn. We
selected our officers for this club
and our selection was as follows:
President - Rosemarie White,
Vice president - Patsy Scott;
Secretary - in. turn, press
Reporter - in turn. The next
meeting will be held on Monday,
April 7 at the Belgrave Arena at
4 p.m. We voted for the fall club.
Our decision was ,'Let's Bake
Bread". Maxine Procter
discussed the objectives,
requirements of club members,
content of Unit and what we heed
in our sewing box. ,
We later discussed the
subject matter. The meeting
closed with taps.

Mr. Michael McNall of Toronto
spent last weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Procter.
Mr, Robert Hibberd attended
an Orange Rally in the Menlorial
Public School in Ingersoll on
Saturday under the auspices
L.U.L. 625 and a dinner was held
in; the evening in St. Paul's
Anglican Church.
Mr. and Mrs Harold Vincent
visited On Saturday with their son
