About 120 employees at
Huikmview, the Huron County
home for the aged near Clinton,
will receive wage increases of
about 40 per cent.
The employees, members of
Local 220, Service Employees
International Union, arc cleaners,
(housekeeping aids( and ward
attendants.
Under the one-year agreement
ratified late last week, basic wage
rates will be increased $1 an hour
effective Jan. 1 with an additional
50-cent-an-hour-increase on July
Effective Jan. 1 wages will
range from $3.45 to $3.65 an
hour.

The first progressive euchre
party sponsored by the Walton
Women's Institute was held in
the Community Hall on Friday
evening. There were eight tables
in play with the following prize

Earl Watson. Most zeros on tally
card - Mrs. Lloyd Walker.

treasurer Bill 1-lanly said Monday
the wage increase was designed
to "bl'ing the staff's wages to a
level comparable to hospital
workers."
He said the wage increase will
add about $500,000 to the annual
budget of Huronview. County
council will be asked to approve
1975 budget of about $2 million
for the 305 resident home at its
January session, he said.

with the agreement. We voted
100 per cent in favour of it."
She said that under the pre-
vious two-year contract "we were
just too far behind."
