The annual Christmas Concert.
of Knox United.. Sunday School
was held on Friday night in the
Women's Institute Hall in
Belgrave„ Rev, John Roberts was.
master .of ceremonies and there
was a good. attendance of children
and parents.
The Sunday School Choir gave
four choruses. The beginners.
entertained with a rhythm band.
Humorous and entertaining plays
were portrayed by Senior Primer,
Junior Girls, Junior , Boys,
Intermediates, Hi-C members
and the Nixon family. Donna
Higgins gave a piano solo. The
Coultes sisters and the Lougheed
Family entertained with several
musical numbers. A humorous
monologue was given by Clifford
Coultes. Sara Lougheed, Joan
Higgins, Katherine Procter, Julia
ittay, Anne Procter, Sheila
nderson and Kelly Lougheed

The Carol Service' of the Six
Lessons was presented in Knox
United Church, Belgrave .on
Sunday, Dec. 22. Lighted
candles, a lighted decorated tree
and poinsettias added to the
hallowed Christmas atmosphere
of the presentations.

The Christmas Social was held
for members and friends of the
Anglican Church in the arena
rooms on Friday evening.
Recitations were given by Denise
and Angela Nethery, Pat and
Mark Stackhouse and Jonathan,
Joel and Johanna Van Camp.
Pat J tnkhousd - performed
several tap dancing numbers
accompanied by Mrs. Archie
Montgomery. Jennifer; Joanne
and Jeanette Rock also tap
danced to recorded music.
Lori Stackhouse played two
numbers on the violin
accompanied by Mrs. Archie
Montgomery. Joanne Rock
played the electric organ and
.Jennifer Rock played the piano .
Everyone enjoyed several songs •
sung by Clarke Johnston,
Carol singing by everyone was
enjoyed to the accompaniment of
Mrs. Clare Van Camp. Santa
arrived to distribute the gifts and
candy bags. Rev. Fred CArson
said the grace and lunch was
served by the ladies.

and family were Christmas
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Alan
Babansec of Waterloo.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Scott and
family of 'Barrie spent last week
end with his mother, Mrs. Walter

A young author sent a manuscript
to an editor with a letter stating,
"The characters in this story are
purely 'fictional and bear no
resemblance to any persons living
or dead."
A few days later he received his
manuscript back with the
penciled notation to his letter,
"That's what's wrong with it."
A first-grader recently proved
how practical school children are
these days. He slipped in the hall
of his school and skinned his
knee. A teacher offered psycho-
logical first-aid with, "Remem-
ber, big boys don't cry." The lad
replied, "I'm not gonna cry, I'm
gonna sue."
The teacher was giving the
kindergarten class a lesson in
identifying various animals.
Turning to one tot, She inquired,
"What do elephants have that no
other animals have?" The little
fellow promptly answered, "Little
elephants."
