The Crown will assume responsibility . for investigation and prosecution, after a' complaint of trespass is made. Allan Grossman, provincial secretary for Resources Development, said the new legislation will ensure' that the' property owner or tenant is not liable for injury to a snowmobiler who is a trespasser or doesnt have written permission to be on the property. The property owner would be liable though, if the owner or occupier wilfully or manliciously intended harm. Car exhaust is also a culprit. Lead concentrations in the blood of more than 5,o00 children were measured by a research team. Comparisons were made for children living close to a major traffic street and those living farther away. The researchers found that children living near a major traffic street had much higher levels of lead in their blood than those living a block or more away. The findings were reported in a recent publication of the Aerican Medical Association. "Our findings not only indict present automobile emissions," the report concluded, "but argue for a realistic planning policy that can effectively reduce these types of emissions, or alternatively, shunt heavy traffic away from areas of high-population density."
