Choice cows sold higher, plain stockers were difficult to trade. All classes of pigs were much higher. Choice Steers - 52.00 to 53.00 with sales to 53.10 Good Steers - 48.00 to 52.00 Five steers consigned by L & B Farms of Wallenstein, averaging 1120 lbs. sold for 53.10 with their offering of 12 steers averaging 1120 lbs. selling .for 52.60. Three steers .consigned by Jacob Weis of Elmira, averaging 1050 lbs. sold for 53.00 with his offering of 13 steers selling for an overall price of 52.90. Ten steers consigned by Ezra Brubacker of Elmira, averaging 1039 lbs. sold for 52.30. Choice Heifers - 46.00 to 48.00 with sales to 48.25. Good Heifers - 44.00 to 46.00. One heifer consigned by George Blake of Brussels weighing 930 lbs. sold for 48.25 with his offering of 21 heifers averaging 917 lbs. selling for an overall price of 46.70. Eight heifers consigned by Doug McPherson of R.R. 2, Wingham, averaging 856 lbs. sold for 46.25 with his offering of 12 heifers averaging 881 lbs. selling for an overall price of 45.90. Three heifers consigned by Bob Blake of Brussels, averaging 923 lbs. sold for 46.10. Thirty-three ,heifers consigned by Earl Fitch of R: R. 1, Wroxeter, averaging 909 lbs. sold for 43.45. Choice cows - 18.00 to 20.00 with sales to 20.25 Good Cows - 15.00 to 18.00 40 to 50 lb. pigs sold from 25.00 to 35.00 50 to 60 lb. pigs sold from 35.00 to 42.00 Western steer and heifer calves are arriving daily from the West. Most guests came from the 10 county area of Western Ontario although there were several .from points east of Toronto. The special recognition night was conducted by Mr. Marshall's home club, the Huron .County Holstein Club. Guest speaker and close neighbour, Hon. Wm.A. Stewart, Ontario Minister of Agriculture and Food, told the gathering that Ross Marshall was "one of the finest individuals ... an enthusiastic leader in community affairs and a great citizen." The minister also made mention of Mr. Marshall's excellent Recent investigations carried out by OPP at Wingham Detachment included: Nine investigations with nine persons charged under the Liquor Control Act. Twenty-one charges laid and thirty-two warnings issued under the Highway Traffic Act. On Tuesday, November 26, Murray Thompson of Wingham and Murray Whytoc of R.R.2, Teeswater were involved in a two-car collision on Highway 4, south of the Huron-Bruce County Line, Turnberry Township. Injured as a result of the accident was Glen McLennan, a passenger in the Thompson vehicle. Damages to both vehicles were estimated at $1000.00. On Thursday, November 28, Maurice Seigel of London was involved in a single car accident on Highway 4, south of Huron Road 16, There were no injuries, direction in operating the Blanshard Municipal Telephone System which is the only rural system in Ont ario with no multi-party lines. Master of Ceremonies for the event was National Holstein Director, Wm. Grieve, Dorchester. He was aided in presenting Ross Marshall's history by Harry H awkins, St. Marys and James A. McCague, Alliston. Huron County Club directors, Ross Trewarth a and Peter Dc Groot presented the. Marshall family with a clock and framed picture depicting the famous Holstein bull, A B C Reflection Sovereign and five of his famous daughters. Mr. Marshall's term of office as President of The Holstein- Friesian Association of Canada is and damages were estimated at $1200.00. James H. Leish man of R.R.#5, Brussels was involved in a single car accident on Concession 1-2, east of Sideroad 5-6, Grey Township. He was not injured, and damages to his vehicle were estimated at $1000.00. On Friday, November 29, Donna S. Petteplace of Teeswater and Yerasinios Euripides of Kitchener, Ontario were involved in a collision on Highway 86, east of the Maitland River Bridge, Grey Township. There were no injuries, and damages were estimated at $700.00. Harvey Aitchison of Wingham and Steven Hass of Elmira were involved in a two-car collision on Highway #86, east of the Zetland Bridge, East Wawanosh Township. Both drivers were injured, and damages to their vehicles were estimated at $1100.00. OPP reports due to expire at the next meeting in February.
