Advance poll
gets huge turn' out
The Advance Poll at the
Brussels' Municipal Office
attracted an unprecedented
heavy vote.
Wm. King, Returning
Officer reported 52 people
exercised their franchise on
Saturday.
This tends to show a great
deal of interest in the outcome
of the municipal election in
Brussels this year and no
doubt indicates a good turn out
of voters on December 2nd.
Morris Township reported
only two and Grey Township
seven voters at Advance Polls.

BRUSSELS
ONTARIO
Seventy of the one hundred and
ght skaters completed the ten
rSkate-A-Thon and earned in
e neighbourhood of two
sand dollars for Minor
key. The skaters have until.
Saturday to collect and return
money to Jim Prior. An
ate total will be available
xt week.
The day ran smoothly with only
couple of minor incidents. The
was quite wet most of the day
e largely to the increase in
atperature outside and the
tuber of skaters inside. There
as only one major casuality and
t was Darrin Watts who
ped early in the day and
deed a cut in the head which
'red 5 stitches. Other than a
blisters and tired bones this
the only dark spot in the
y's activities.
When an event of this magni-
occurs it involves the
peration of many people to
it a success and this event
as no exception. Parents,
hes and skaters all worked
ether to make this money and
11,. no matter how much they
nbuted, received from
ssels Minor Hockey a very
large thank y6u.
A list of how much everyone
earned in the skate-a-thon is
expected to be available for
