All the entries are listed in the Post kory, (Photo by Pat Langlois) Advance poll gets huge turn' out The Advance Poll at the Brussels' Municipal Office attracted an unprecedented heavy vote. Wm. King, Returning Officer reported 52 people exercised their franchise on Saturday. This tends to show a great deal of interest in the outcome of the municipal election in Brussels this year and no doubt indicates a good turn out of voters on December 2nd. Morris Township reported only two and Grey Township seven voters at Advance Polls. He continues to teach at General Brock High School in Burlington. There is a great deal of criticism levelled at young people these days. Undoubtedly there are some who deserve it,' but the great majority do not. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Turnbull of Brussels swept the Yorshire and Landrace swine classes at the Royal in Toronto. Mrs. Turnbull had the Grand Champion Gilt. "Willowbrook Marilyn 4F" who also was awarded the Cook Challenge Trophy as the Supreme Champion Landrace and was sold to Allan Cook of Milton for $1,000. Mr. Turnbull topped the York- shire classes with the Grand Champion, Gilt "Meadowbrook MD 638". and Reserve "Mea- dowbrook MD202E". He also received the R.E. Wade Memorial Challenge Trophy; Premier Exhibitor Award, Premier Breeder Award and won the, Herdsman Award. Congratulations to the Turn- bulls who well deserve the awards they receieved for the many' years of work they have devoted to champion swine breeding. pleased they no longer have to cope with the muddy conditions that were in evidence there in wet weather. It is too bad we cannot all, like the government, afford to have driveways surfaced. * * * * * * The annual Turkey Bingos sponsored by the Brussels Legion get underway Thursday of this week. These Bingos are a popular event each year and a good way to win yourself a Christmas turkey while having a fun evening. * * * * * We can look forward to the Fun and Frolic of "Polar Daize". The Lions Club of Brussels are again sponsoring this popular annual event. This year it will take place under the chairmanship of Bill Beaded'. BRUSSELS ONTARIO Seventy of the one hundred and ght skaters completed the ten rSkate-A-Thon and earned in e neighbourhood of two sand dollars for Minor key. The skaters have until. Saturday to collect and return money to Jim Prior. An ate total will be available xt week. The day ran smoothly with only couple of minor incidents. The was quite wet most of the day e largely to the increase in atperature outside and the tuber of skaters inside. There as only one major casuality and t was Darrin Watts who ped early in the day and deed a cut in the head which 'red 5 stitches. Other than a blisters and tired bones this the only dark spot in the y's activities. When an event of this magni- occurs it involves the peration of many people to it a success and this event as no exception.
