cake.
The Majestic In-
stitute was organ-
ized Nov. 16,1939 by
the late Mrs.Harold
Speir, then Pres. of
East Huron District,
who ,saw need for•
an. organization'to
bring together the
ladies of Schbol
Section No. 1, Grey
in a common interest.
The name 'Majestic'
was chosen from the
visit of their Majes-
ties King George V1

enjoyed the delic-
ious dinner provided
by the U.C.W. and
were thanked by Mrs.
Jennie Strachan. A
sing-song followed,
led by Mrs.Leone Arm-
strong.The President
introduced the head
table guests which
were the present of-
ficers, first offic-
ers and guest speak-
ers. 'In Memoriam'
was conducted for
forty-six deceased
members by Mrs.Cud-
more.
Taken by surprise,
Mrs.Wilma Hemingway,
the first President
and Mrs. Amy Speir,
who has been secre-
tary for 22 years,
were presented with
life membership cer-
tificates and pins
in recognition of
over 25 years of out
standing 'service to
the Institute.
The audience en-
joyed two musical
duets, 35th Anniver-
sary Song and W.I.
