Maitland Dirt Riders
Motorcycle Club attracted an
enthusiastic audience for their
first moto cross motorcycle race
on Sunday aft ernoon one mile
east of Walton Church.
The event was hotly contested
by 176 riders from. across Ontario;
some from as far as-Sudbury .arid
eastern Ontario.
Seaforth Junior Farmers'
supplied refreshments for the
crowd of over 400 spectators who
lined the 1.1 mile long course.
Despite dusty track conditions
due to lack of rain the races ran
offas scheduled and it seemed to
be the consensus of both
spectators and riders that the
club's first event had been a great
success.

The Brussels Pee Wee ball
cam under manager Bob Rich-
Mond, are now battling the
Atwood Pee Weds for the Tri-
County Pee Wee Championship.
As of Monday of this Week, the
cams were tied in the finals at 2
games each in the best of four out
seven series,

out by officers at Wingham
Detachment include:
Four investigations with four
persons charged under the Liquor
Control At.
Eight charges laid and eighteen
persons warned under the
Highway Traffic Act.
Twenty-eight other
investigations.
On Wednesday, Septemer 4,
Albert Brunsveld of
Puslinch, was involved in a single
car accident on Highway #4,
south of the Maitland River
Bridge, East Wawanosh
Township. He was not injured.
Damages to his vehicle were
estimated at $300.00.
On Friday, September 6,
DAvid K. Currie of R.R.#3,
Wingham, was injured as a result
of a single car accident on
Highway #86, west of the
Junction of Old Highway #86,
East Wawanosh Township.
Damages to the Currie vehicle
wer estimated at $500.00.
Robert J. Hurst was involved in
A single car accident on Friday,
September 6, on County Road
#16, east of Sideroad 15-16,
Morris township. Mr. H urst was
not injured. Damages to his
vehicle were estimated at
$3000.00.
On Friday, September 6, James
R. Graham of Scarboro, received
injuries as a result of a single car
accident on Highway #87, west of
the Wellington-Huron County
Line, Howick Township.
Damages to his vehicle were
estimated at $2000.00.
