Middlesex. He called McKinley
'a hard worker and a good whip
for the party' and encouraged
supporters to assist him in his
local campaign,
Mr.' Stanfield cited inflation as
being the major issue in this
election. He told the PC support-
ers that the past government feels
nothing can be done.
'We can't accept that point of
view,' he said.
One of the greatest reasons for
inflation is the 'atmosphere of
expectation', he added. People
know prices are going to rise and
prices are boosted as a result.
He said the new government
must concentrate on helping
people with fixed incomes such as
the senior citizens. Farmers are

Goderich Police Station has
acquired some Brussels talent for
the summer as part of a program
sponsored by the Ontario Police
Commission, called "Youth and
the Law".
Mary Anne Blake, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Blake, R.R.2,
Brussels will be working for 12
weeks with the police.
Mary Anne will be entering her
second year at the University of
Western Ontario in social work ,
She had never heard of the
program, Youth arid the Law and
discovered it by chance in a
booklet describing government
programs in the employment of
the university,
"Social workers nave a lot of
contact with the police," she
explained. She hopes her work
this Still-fillet will give her
chance to meet the kind of people
She may work with some day.
For tiOW4 her duties are mostly
filing, and bookkeeping, but she
does answer the calls and put
