Recent investigations carried
out by the O.P.P. of Wingham
Detachment include:
Five investigations with five
persons charged under the Liquor
Control Act.
Nine charges laid and six
warnings issued uder the High-
way Traffic Act.
Twenty-three other
investigations.
On Thursday,, May 9, Ronald
K. Campbell and a passenger in
his car, Elizabeth M. Campbell
were injured in a car-cattlebeast
collision on Concession 2-3, east
of the East-West Wawanosh
Town Line, East Wawanosh
Township. Damages to the
Campbell vehicle were estimated
at $1000.00. The cattlebeast,
which was fatally injured, was
owned by Bert Bos of R.R. 3,
Blyth.
On Saturday, May 11, Mary
Ann Soers of R.R. 1, Mildmay,
was involved in a single car
accident on County Road 7, west
of County Road 12, Turnberry
Township. No one was injured,
and damages to the vehicle were
estimated at $1000.00.
James E. Klassen of Brantford,
and Elizabeth A. Ryan of R.R. 2,
Brussels, were involved in a
Iwo-car collision on Highway 86 at
the junction of Huron Road 12,
Grey Township. Lawrence G.
Beal of Galt-Cambridge, was a
passenger in the Klassen vehicle,
and he received minor injuries as
a result. Total damages were
estimated at $3000.00. Charges
are pending.
Kenneth J. Hopper of Brussels
received injuries as a result of a
single car accident on Concession
3-4, west of Sideroad 10-11,
Morris Township, when the cat
he was driving left the south side
of the road and struck a bridge
abutment. Damages to his vehicle
were estimated at $1200.00.
London, on Saturday evening.
They were pleased to renew
their acquaintance with Rev. and
Mrs. Glen Campbell, the officiat-
ing minister, who is a former
minister of Seaforth Presbyterian
Church.
Miss Colleen Durst of Wallace-
burg and Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Edgar, Shelley and. Duane of
Listowel were Mother's Day
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Thomas.
Dr. Ruth Stephens and daugh-
ters Louise and Audrey have
arrived from New Zealand and
are visiting with Mrs. R. W.
Stephens.
Cecil McFadden was a visitor
last Thursday and Friday with his
brother in Port Elgin.
Melville Jacklin, Who has been
a patient in Listowel Hospital,
came home on Sunday.
Mrs. Gladys Wilson of Strat-
ford spent a few days last week
with her cousin Mrs. Ida Evans.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Cousins on Mother's Day were
their family, and Mr. and Mrs.
Stan Phillips of Palmerston.
Miss June King of Elora visited
Sunday with her uncle, John
Evans and with Mrs. Ida Evans.
Rev. and Mrs. James Perrie
were visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
W. J. Perrie on Mother's Day.
Robert Kennedy and daughter
Janice of Ottawa visited for a few
days last week with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Kennedy.
Roy returned home from Wing-
ham and District Hospital on
Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Weiler,
Robert and Bonnie of Toronto
spent the weekend at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. George Thornton of
Brussels. Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Thornton, Dianne, Steven and
Twyla Dawn of Dublin and Mr.
and Mrs. Carman. Dale Donna,
Brenda, Joan, Bruce and Wren of
near Clinton, also spent Sunday
afternoon at the same home,
Mrs. Mabel McNichol of Lon-
don (great-grandmother), Mrs.
Velma Dick of Seaforth (grand-
mother), Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Reid of London (aunt) and Danny,
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jacklin of
Brussels (aunt), Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Kellington (uncle) and
Tommy of Stratford, Wm. Collis
of Atwood, and Mr. and. Mrs.
Wm. Kellington (grandparents),
Brian and Kevin of Brussels,
attended the baptism of Sherri
Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Kellington, and sister of
Tammy and Steven, in Spring-
field. A dinner also honored Mrs.
Mabel McNichol on her 85th
birthday and marked Mother's
Day.
Mrs. Elsie Thuell returned
, home Saturday after spending
several weeks at the home of her
daughter in Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Tipple,
Burlington, Ont., spent the week-
end at her home here and
attended the Brister-McCutcheon
wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Warwick,
Aylmer, Ont., and Mr. and Mrs.
Jas. McDonald, Walton, Ont.,
visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Murray Huether and Joan.
Mr. David Huether has ac-
cepted a position teaching sci-
ence, zoology and coaching in-
door and outdoor sports and
gymnastics for the city of Renfrew
in Renfrew County for the year
1974-1975. He will still by em-
ployed by the same board that he
was working for while teaching in
the city of Pembroke this past
year.
