The Brussels Post, 1974-04-03, Page 8TODAY'S CHILD!
BY HELEN ALLEN'',
SOCCER HIS FAVORITE.
Robby's expression tells you that he is a friendly boy. He is
also lively and inquisitive and has a good sense of humor. This
good-looking lad with blonde hair, blue eyes' and fair skin will
soon be 9. His glasses are to correct a turned-in eye. He is in
good health, having outgrown a tendency to bronchitis. ,
Robby is above average in intelligence but has minimal brain
damage. This does not affect his learning capacity but does
affect his behaviour, making him hyperactive and impulsive.
Therefore, Robby needs parents who will appreciate his many
excellent qualities and will realize that when he is very active,
he is not trying to misbehave.
In Grade 3, Robby is working at an accelerated rate though he
is in a special class because he needs extra attention. He likes to
read all kinds of books and is interested in crafts such as
candlemaking and paper mache work. He also enjoys building
things. This lad responds well to praise and has great
enthusiasm but gets frustrated easily.
Robby loves the outdoors. He likes camping and riding his
bike and is keen on active games, both to play and to' watch. He
is fond of animals.
Parents with energy and patience, plus ability to combine
firmness with warmth, are being sought for Robby.
To inquire about adopting Robby please write to Today's
Child, Ministry of Community and Social Services, Box 888,
Station K, Toronto M4P 2H2.
