Mrs. Gladys Van Egmond and Stewart-McEv, en visited the
Home on Monday afternoon and helped to provide the Old
Tyme Music along _with Norman Speir and Jerry Collins. A
new Monday volunteer, Terry Gibbs, helped with the music,
the wheelchairs and the games. During the program three
new residents were welcomed Mrs. Mousseau of Hensall,
Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Parker of Goderich.
The Kinette Club of Clinton treated the residents of Ground
Floor North and Centre with a Valentine tea on Thursday
morning. The girls served cheese cake made in the shape of a
heart and also presented a lovely bouquet of flowers for the
dining room. Members of the Club serving the tea were
Roxanne Brown, Bev. Riley,Laurie Daw, Lorine Denomme,
Carol Bowker and Pat Mann.
A group of young people from the Clinton area with Jim
Burgess as leader and teacher provided the "Family Night"
program. Mr. Burgess introduced the numbers and
accompanied Janet Postma, Lloyd Crich, Laurie Henderson
and Dave Harland with guitar instrumentals. Nancy Eastman,
Jo Anne Cantelon, Brenda Fee, Julie Bartliff and Gayle La
Crouix accompanied by the guitars sang several numbers.
Miss Pearl Gidley thanked the entertainers on behalf of the
residents.

Atom B team wins again
The Atom "A" t earn travelled
to Teeswater last Saturday. to
participate in • a tournament
sponsored by Huronia Hockey.
Their first game at 3:15 was
against a team from Cayuga with
the final score- 5 - 0 in favor of
Brussels.
The second game of the day
came at 8:10 ,against the Mildmay
squad. The score once more
favoured Brussels- with a 5 - 2
finish. The team 'had to return to
Teeswater on. Sunday at 1 p.m. to
play for the championship. The
home. town of Teeswater was to
provide the opposition. Brussels
came out determined to win and
did so quite handily by a .5 - 1
victory. This gave them the "B"
championship trophy(1000 pop.
and under) for their excellent
trophy
effort. Those players

U.C.W. plans World Day of Prayer

U.C.W.Meeting
The February meeting of the
U.C.W. was held in the church
Sunday School rooms on February
6 with the president, Mrs. J.
Nicholson presiding. Devotions
were given by Mrs. W. J.
Peacock. The scripture was read
by Mrs. J. Nicholson.
Mrs. J. C. Johnston introduced
the study topic for the year,
"Mission Impossible". Members
participated in a questionnaire
concerning "What Mission
Means."
Interesting facts about Robert
Burns were given by Mrs. W.
Willitts. She also read some of his
poems.
Plans were made for the World
Day of Prayer to be held March 1
at 3 p.m. at the United Churei.
Delegates were chosen to
attend the Presbyterial at
Mitchell on March 6.
Mrs. Spading Johnston and
Mrs. F. Mock offered to pack a
bale of used clothing to be sent in
early in 4pril.
Twelve dollars was received
from the bake articles. Lunch was
served by Unit 4.
W.M.S. Meets
Mrs. J. J. Elliott was hostess
for the meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society' of Knox
Presbyterian Church when it held
its February meeting •at her
home.
Mrs. Glenn Golley gave the call
to worship, reciting a poem, "My
Savior". The hymn "God Moves
in a Mysterious Way" followed
and Mrs. Gordon Mundell read
scripture from St. Mark's Gospel
and St. John's Gospel.
Appropriate comments from the
"Glad. Tidings" were given by
Mrs. Harry Elliott and Mrs.
Mundell offered prayer.
The minutes of the January
meeting-were read by Mrs. Glenn
McKercher and Mrs. Mundell
gave the treasurer's report.
Offering was received by Miss
Eileen Haugh' and Mrs. Golley
gave the offeratory prayer.
Mrs. Mundell gave an
interesting report of the annual
meeting of the Maitland
Presbyterial held in St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church on January
28.
Mrs, Burns Moffatt had charge
of the topic "Rahab, a Harlot
Turned Believer". Her talk was
based on scripture taken from the
second chapter of Joshua. Mrs.
Golley then conducted an
interesting contest.
Mrs. Golley thanked Mrs.
Elliott for sharing her home and
the hymn, "Happy the Home
When God Is There" brought the
meeting to a close. The Lord's
Prayer was repeated in unison.
Lunch was served by the
hostess, assisted by Mrs.
Mundell and Mrs. Harry Elliott.
