The principal, Mr. Scott welcomed the audience and thanked them for their support. Grade one and two opened the program, with some lively choir selections. Mrs. Ireland and her kindergarten children presented "The Night Before Christmas" featuring such famous, people as Jack and Jill, Jack Horner and Little Miss Muffett. Next on the• program was Miss Mitchell and the grade one.pupils who told the audience "All about Christmas". The pupils were dressed as .candles, bells, snowflakes, st ars and of course,Santa Claus. Mrs. Huether and her grade two class presented "Merry Christmas, Mr. Snowman. The students built a snowman which they left unfinished to go and sing Christmas carols, The sandman is unhappy because the children are still awake and with Santa Corning a serious problem is created. Everything, of course, worked out in the end with the children being forgiven because of the joy they spread while singing carols. Grade three and four teamed up to present a three act play. The Land of Dreams Come True. Some of the children' ate some magic berries and Were then taken to .a land of fairy `tales. Colourful costumes and gaily decorated props added to Qxcellent performance by the students. The students had been well trained by Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Tyerman. Between performances, • Mr. Scott led in the singing of Christmas carols and showed slides of last year's concert, Special thanks were extended to the following people who helped make the concert, such a success. Brussels girls win volleyball tournament Brussels defeated the following teams on, their way to victory in the Volleyball Tournament. - Ripley, Grey Central, Howick,, and Sacred Heart. Since a teaM must lose twice before being eliminated Sacred Heart after losing to, Brussels bounced back defeating all opposition until they met Brussels again where in a, close fought engagement, Brussels emerged victorious. This was the ; second time in three years the Brussels girls have won the F.E.Madill tournament. Baby sitters - and Joan Mair. Mrs. Rogers was presented with a gift of flowers and the evening closed with the grade 'three and four choir leading in "0 Canada". Recent investigations carried out by the 'OPP at Wingham. Detachment include: Four investigations 'with four persons charged3inder the Liquor Control Act, < Nine charges laid with twenty. Warnings issued under the Highway Traffic Act. Thirty-three investigations with one person charged under the Criminal Code. On December 8, Raymond J. Arnott of Kitchener, was involyed in a single car, accident on Concession B, east of sideroad 17-18, Turnberry Township when his car left the north edge of the road, struck a mailbox owned by Elmer James of R.R.#2, Wingham, and rolled over. Mr. Arnott was not injured, and damages to his vehicle were estimated at $600.00. On December 8, B Fischer, of R.R.#3, Etruss involved in a single car on , Concession 7-9, sideroad 5-6, Grey To when he struck .a hydro was not injured, and aa his vehicle were estim $1,500.00, On December 9, Cha Tennant of Brampton, $ vehicle owned by W.Logan of Windsor, wh parked in the village. of B No one was injured, an damages were estimat $750.00.
