Institute holds meeting

Mrs.Mac Engel
Mrs, Lylle Gordon was hostess
for the December Institute
meeting. Thirteen members
answered the roll call "A verse
from a Christmas card". Mrs.
Jack Cox reported on a district
meeting she attended at Mrs.
Humphries' home. The motto
"No one has eye strain from
looking on the bright side of life"
was given by Mrs, Cliff Bray.
Blues chasers were given by Miss
- Kate McNabb andMrs. Bray. The
singing of favorite Christmas
songs was led by Mrs. Melvin
Becker`. Mrs. John Strickler read
a Christmas story, "A Woman's
Conversation with God". As the
guest speaker was unable to be

Wingham and District Hospital.
Douglas Leach of Ottawa has
been a visitor with his mother,
Mrs. Jean Leach, who is a patient
in Wingham and District Hospital
and also assisting his sister, Mrs.
Cathy Smyth in the Leach

Mrs. Annie &ay returned
home from Wingham Hospital,
where she had been a patient on
Friday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Perrie
were entertained to a dinner at
the Blue Barn on Saturday last.
The occasion beitig their fortieth
wedding anniversary by their
family. Also present for the
dinner was Rev. C.A.McCarrol.
Mrs. 'Mary . Hollinger of
Hamilton spent last week with
Mr. and Mrs. W.J.Perrie. Also
visiting there was Miss Marion
Heaslip of Princeton and Rev.
James Perrie of Strathroy.
. Miss Alice Stiles of Toronto
- was a visitor on Sunday with her
sister, Mrs. Willis .Knight, and
Mr. Knight, and other Brussels.

swimming pool project. Their
campaign was kicked off by a
$10,000 dopation from Blyth
Lions. Club which is leading the
campaign to * build the pool,

We are pleased, to report that
Glenn Huether returned home
last week from five weeks spent in
Listovvel Hospital following a
heart attack.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henry,
'London, visited on the weekend
with Mrs. Stuart McNair.
' Ricky Knight, son of Mr. and
Mrs, Leslie Knight spent a few
days in Stratford Hospital where
he underwent ear surgery.
The December meeting of the
‘W.M.S. was held at the home of '
Mrs. Gordon Engel with an
attendance of fourteen. Mrs.
Lytle Gordon presided for the
Christmas service from the Glad
Tidings. "Joy to the World" was
'sung with 'Mrs. Stewart Steiss at
the piano. All repeated the Lord's
Prayer. Mrs. Clare Veitch was 1st.

A. Perrie. "Hark the glad sound"
and "0 Little Town, of
Bethelehem" were sung. Mrs.
Jack Knight led in prayer.. Each
member gave an appropriate
reading for Christmas,
Mrs. Earl Dunn conducted the
business period. In the absence of
the secretary, Mrs. Leslie Knight,
the minutes were read by • Mrs.
Mac Engel. There was a
discussion on cards to report and
also on fees for 1974. It was
decided that if three meetings
were attended they were
considered an active member,
Used cards and stamps are to be
brought to the January Meeting.
Mrs. Jack Knight received the
offering which ' was "dedicated by
Mrs. dunn.
The January meeting will be
held on January 9th at 2 p.m. at
the home of Mrs. Gordon. "Silent
Night" was sung and the Meeting
closed with prayer by the leader.
Mrs. Wilfred Strickler assisted
the hostess with refreshments.
