THEHURON-PERTH ROMAN CATHOLIC SEPARATE SCHOOL BOARD
wishes to inform the Separate School Supporters that the following salary proposal
was presented to each teacher on November 29, 1973.
The total cost of salary and fringe benefits in this proposal is a 9.85% increase over
the cost of the 1972 - 1973 agreement.
*The first figures are from the 1972-73 Contract. The figures in brackets are the
(1973-74) Proposal. •

favorable and devotions were

Ten tables of euchre were
played in the Belgrave Commun-
ity Centre last Wednesday
evening. The winners were:

CHRISTMAS MEETING
The Christmas meeting of the
U.C.W. was held November 27 in
the Sunday School room.' Mrs.
Stanley Hopper opened the
worship service with a call to
worship followed by hymn
"While Shepherds Watch Their
Flocks by Night."
Mrs. Ross Higgins read the
scripture which was the. Christ-
' Inas Story from Luke. The
meditation was entitled "The
Christ of Christmas" which was
followed by hymn "The First
Nowell." The offering was
.r.ceived and dedicated. Mrs.
Hopper read an article "The
Meaning of Christmas.'' Hymn
"Joy to the World" closed the
service.
The business portion of the
meeting Was conducted by Mrs.
Janes Coultes.
It was decided the U.C.W.
should help finance a delegate to
the' Toc.Aopha Conference in the
Christmas holidays and donations
are to be sent to Carrip.

was decided that the Community

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL
On Saturday evening, Decem-
ber 1, Belgrave Junior Auxiliary
held, its Christmas Social in the
Belgrave Orange Hall. The hall
was decorated with a Christmas
tree laden with gifts.
The program opened with a
recitation by Anne Procter, "A
Christmas Welcome." A duet by
Karen -Stott and. Joan 'Higgin s-
"Silver Bells." A recitation by
Kelly Lougheed, "A Song of
Christmas"; a recitation by Joan
Higgins, "The Red, Red Ben:
ries." Alison Roberts, ' Audrey
Scott, Julie Gnay, Nancy Moore,
Sheila Anderson and Cathy Shiell'
presented a play "Santa's Vaca-
tion," followed by a duet by Kelly
Lougheed and Patti Edwards
entitled, "Worms."
A recitation by Cathy Shiell,
"Learning to Share;" a duet by
Lisa Thompson and Cathy Shiell,
"Jesus Nly Brother, Kind and
Good;" a recitation by Patti
Edwards, "Christmas Happi-
ness." A baton routine was
presented by Lisa Thompson; a
duet by Sheila Anderson and
6thy Shiell, "It Came Upon the
Midnight Clear;" a recitation by
Nancy Moore, "Let's Go Caroling
Tonight." All the members sang.
"Jingle Bells." A play was
presented by Karen -Scott, Mary
Isabel Nethery, Bonnie Walker
and Janette Johnston entitled,
"Christmas is for Me."
Two numbers were presented
by Patti Edwards, Kim McDow-
ell, Kelly Lougheed and Audrey
Scott entitled "A Wayward
Lamb" and "I Know Where I Am
Going"
A recitation was presented by
Anne Procter, "A Surprise for
Santa;" a duet by Sheila
Anderson and Kelly Lougheed
entitled "Christmas;" a recita-
tion by Julie Gnay, "A Riddle;'.' a
recitation by Sheila Anderson
"Our Fireplace;" a recitation by
Lisa Thompson, "Santa Claus."
The Bethlehem Babe was sung by
all the members.
The program concluded with a
singsong by all and Santa arrived
and distributed gifts, followed by
lunch.
PERSONALS
Mrs. Wilbert Procter was able
to return to home last week after
being a patient in Wingham and
District Hospital for a few weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Biernan
moved on Saturday to their home
on the farm in East Wawanosh on
the Division Line.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Finnigan
and family of Dungannon visited
on Sunday with' their uncle and
aunt Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Chamney. •
Mr. and Mrs. William Gow
visited on Sunday with Mrs.
Russel Wilson of Huronview,
Clinton to help celebrate her
